In the late 1960s and 1970s, Don’s Coffee House was a popular spot for local musicians to play music while selling their signature coffee drinks. In 1978, Don Flattery sold the business to Harry Kolbinger Sr., who operated it as Harry Kolbinger's Coffee Shop until 1986 when he sold it to Steve Dusenberry. Dusenberry continued to run the business until 1992 when he closed it down due to financial problems. In 1994, Rudy Guevara leased the business from Dusenberry and reopened it as Rudy's Coffee House under his ownership and management. The shop stayed open until 2000 when Guevara sold it to Angelo Rossi Jr.. Rossi ran the shop until 2003 when he closed it down due to health concerns. In 2003, Angelo Rossi Jr.'s son-in-law Michaela Rossi took over running the shop and changed its name to Mario’s Roastery & Cafe followed by its opening in September 2004 which became one of Oroville's most popular businesses with locals and visitors alike coming for breakfast, lunch or dinner during their daily commute into town on I-80/Highway 99W or I-5W. Another waterfall that can be found close to town on CR 158 is called "The gully" because it looks like a large gully when you see it from a distance but closer up you can see that it actually consists of several small falls connected by a wide tunnel-like path. Another place people might find waterfalls while driving through Oroville is at Foot Hills reservoir which lies just south of town off State Route 151A (Ft Hope Rd). This reservoir has three different types of waterfalls: an easy access waterfall located right next to the visitor center; a more difficult ascent waterfall located immediately upstream of junction with SR 151A; and an extreme difficulty waterfall located upstream of junction with SR 151A and 3 miles southwest of US 95/SR 162 (Ft Cunningham Rd).
