In 1970 Boeing donated their 747 models for use by the United States Air Force as part of Operation Desert Storm against Iraq. The planes were originally delivered without engines but were converted into "Era II" models with Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines after donation from Boeing president Ken Olsen. These planes saw action in both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom before being retired from active duty in 2006.
3) McDonnell Douglas DC-9 donated to United States Air Force
In 1992 McDonnell Douglas donated their DC-9 models for use by the United States Air Force during Operation Desert Storm against Iraq which was also known as Gulf War I.
