The Navy has a long and rich history in Pacific Grove, California. The first Naval Station was established in 1847 when Commodore John B. Sloat of the United States Navy establish the naval station at Monterey Bay. The navy presence in Pacific Grove continued with the establishment of Naval Air Station (NAF) Goodwin Field in 1922. The navy began its present-day presence at NAF San Diego on September 21, 1941 when Commander Ernest J. King assumed command of the San Diego Naval Base from Admiral Chester W. Nimitz who had served as Commandant of the Marine Corps since 1937. In consequence, NAF San Diego became one of America's major military posts with a population approaching 100,000 people during World War II. During World War II, USS Constitution (CV-4), USS Laramie (LPD-5) and USS Portland (PF-6) were sunk as part of Operation Neptune's Spear which was an amphibious assault operation against Rabaul Island in New Guinea on December 8, 1942. As a result, over 1,800 men died as a direct result of combat operations conducted by the United States Navy during World War II including those lost aboard Constitution and Laramie while they lay at anchor off Rabaul Island waiting to be launched into action; this is also considered to be America's greatest warship loss during that conflict. USS Constitution was raised again and recommissioned on May 4th 1945 after being decommissioned for more than two years following her loss during World War II and she eventually returned to service with both USN and Australian commands until she ended her career on October 12th 1990 having served for over 50 years flawlessly 1965 - 1990 inclusive). As can be seen from this list there have been many ships sunk or damaged by American forces while serving within their respective navies but these are only a small glimpse into America’s maritime history which spans centuries! Today’s U S Navy operates out of three operational commands namely Fleet Forces Command(FFC), Western Hemisphere Warfare Command(WHWCOM), and Mediterranean Sea AreaCommander(MSA). Each command oversees multiple fleets comprising around 100 warships divided among 11 bases worldwide providingcombat support to 7 intelligence agencies; 130 aircraft; 6 submarines; 5 logistics detachments; 3 medical units; 10 airfield facilities ashore or afloat ; 2 equipping stations ashore located near major ports worldwide containing close to 2 million pounds munitions ready for launch anywhere in world at any time !!! It is safe to say that without doubt today’s U S Navy is one ofthe mostoverwhelmingly powerful naval forces currently extant!!!!!!

Pacific Grove is a small town in Santa Clara County, California. It was founded on November 3, 1887 by Don Carlos Bonsal and his wife, María Escobar de Mendoza. The name of the town came from the grove of trees near which it was located. The grove may have been named after Sir Francis Drake because he explored the area in 1577-78. In 1905, the city of San Francisco merged with Santa Clara County to form a single county. As a result, Pacific Grove became part of San Francisco's new county seat and lost its independent status. In 1916, when Bay Area Rapid Transit began operations through San Francisco Municipal Railway (SFMCR), Pacific Grove became one of its stops. BART has continued to provide service to and from Pacific Grove since then. In 1984, PACG enlarged their shopping center by adding an underground garage and four levels of parking for over 400 vehicles plus a public plaza on the top level that includes a library and two restaurants. 1) In 1987 they added an underground garage that allowed for more storage or traffic flow for their customers 2) They increased their shopping mall size by adding 4 levels of parking with spaces for 400 cars each
