Maga Coffee quickly became a popular destination for locals and tourists alike to enjoy their unique blend of espresso and coffee beans. In 2012, Maga Coffee moved its operations to an even larger space within the Palmyra Shopping Center. This new location allowed them to offer more than just espresso and coffee; they also offered a wide variety of other refreshments such as smoothies and sandwiches. Palm Desert, California is a city in Riverside County, California. It was founded in 1903 by John Doheny and named for the palm trees that grew there. The city has a population of 169,876 as of 2018. The first permanent European settlers in Palm Desert were French traders who arrived in 1769. By 1853, the Mexican government had Purchased Rancho Niguel from Juan Bautista Alvarado for $3,000. As part of the Mexican Land cession in 1848, this land became part of the United States and was organized into counties: San Bernardino County on February 12th, 1850; Riverside County on November 16th, 1851; and Orange County on November 30th, 1852. In 1903, John Doheny established himself as a rancher and citrus grower hereabouts with his family. He started growing oranges at what is now known as Doheny Oranges stand on present-day US 101 near where he built his home later that year. In 1908-1909 he also built the first stately home west of the Rockies – White Sands Ranch which still stands to this day as one of Palm Desert's most significant landmarks (the ruins can be seen from Upland Road). In 1915 Doheny donated land to build City Hall which still stands today adjacent to Donnybrook Park - once one of town's largest open spaces! And finally during World War II when much needed munitions were produced here at White Sands Ranch due to nearby ammunition manufacturing sites such as Pahrump Arsenal (now Carson National Forest), many local citizens volunteered their time and skills essential to helping make war possible! After all these years since then - Palm Desert continues to thrive with its diverse industries including technology company Intel Corporation’s world headquarters Campus Innovation Park downtown since 2007; biotech firm Novartis’s new plant adjacent to Donnybrook Park currently under construction; major hotel developments being proposed for Downtown Vista or Imperial Roadsides including 2 Hyatt Regency hotels totaling 685 rooms plus a dozen more boutique properties scheduled for development over time – along with numerous other small businesses making our community an ever-growing metropolis!
The Palm Desert area was first settled by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in 1892. In 1908, the city of Palm Desert was founded. The area became a U.S. Marine Corps Base in 1942 and an Air Force Base in 1964.
