The Palm Springs Air Force Base has a rich air force history dating back to World War II. The base was the original home of the Desert Air Forces, which were responsible for providing fighter and bomber planes and support services in support of military campaigns in North Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Today, Palm Springs AFB is home to two main wings - the 39th Fighter Wing (39 FW) and the 434th Bombardment Wing (434 BW). These wings are responsible for operating all types of bombers, fighters, and reconnaissance aircraft within Palm Springs AFB. Additionally, there are numerous supporting units scattered throughout the base. Some of these include: the Combat Arms Squadron-114 (CASS-114), Helicopter Attack Squadron-128 (HAS-128), Headquarters Battalion 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (HB 3 IBCT), Special Weapons Regiment 11th Assault Division Signals Intelligence Battalion (SWR 11 SIB), Mountain Warfare Brigade 9th Infantry Division Support Element (MWB 9 IDE), 1st Armored Cavalry Regiment/1st Light Armored Cavalry Regiment/1st Cavalry Division Aviation Brigade/Air Defense Command Element (ADCOME) – all of which provide unique capabilities to The Palm Springs Air Force Base community. One of the most significant aspects of USAF history comes from its deployment gift programs. This involves sending gifts to friendly countries in order to help promote peace and stability within their regions. In addition to gift programs, RAF also operates several museums on site which document USAF history as well as current events happening at RAF. One such museum is Veterans Affairs Museum located onsite near Wright-Patterson AFB where visitors can learn about military service members who have died in service or during Operation Iraqi Freedom or any other conflict since 1945. Another interesting museum located onsite is World War II Memorial Museum which documents crimes committed by USAAF members during that time period as well as information about operations flown over Japan during that time frame. Finally, RAF operates an aircraft restoration facility known as The hangar at Edwards AFB where visitors can see vintage jets being restored or taking flight once again!

The casino also features a wide range of restaurants both casual and fine-dining establishments as well as an entertainment complex with theaters, a gym, and several bars/clubs.
The city of Palm Springs was founded on March 14, 1912 by theettlement of a group of people led by citrus grower W. A. "Doc" Brown. The original town was named after the date palms grew in the area, which were then called Palms Row. The first post office opened in 1914 and the first telephone line went into operation in 1921. In 1934, palm oil production began to increase and Palm Springs became an important center for this industry. In 1959, Palm Springs voters passed a resolution urging President Eisenhower to declare a national emergency to support California's efforts to stop the spread of communism during the Cold War. This resolution was later changed to allow for more economic development within Palm Springs without government assistance and it is now considered one of its most popular tourist attractions. In 1984, Hollywood star James Garner moved his family from Pasadena, California to Palm Springs after purchasing land near Desert Hot Springs Resort Spa that he would use as their summer home. He would become one of the largest landowners in town and continue making donations towards local causes until his death in 2003 at age 88.
