The Palmdale Coast Guard Station has been providing essential public services to the people of Palmdale for over 80 years. The station is located on Point Conception, just east of the town center, and its primary mission is to protect the coast and provide law enforcement services. In 1947, when the Palmdale Coast Guard Station was established, it consisted of a singleboat watchtower and a few transient rescue boats. The first wave of Coast Guard officers arrived in Palmdale in 1951 after World War II ended. At that time, most coastal communities had only one boat or boat tower. As ocean traffic increased and more people moved to inland towns, the need for a permanent Coast Guard station became apparent. In 1969, Congress passed legislation authorizing $2 million for the purchase of two new stations- one at Point Conception and one at Redondo Beach. Construction began on both stations in 1974 and they were finished in 1975. Today, the Coast Guard Station provides essential public safety service to residents of Palmdale as well as law enforcement officials from nearby jurisdictions including Corona del Mar and Newport Beach. In addition to its primary mission of protecting our coastline, the station also provides opportunities for officer/member interactions with local community groups and tourists alike through various ceremonial events such as parades or beach cleanups.

The Palmdale Coast Guard Station was established in 1924. In 1959, the station became part of the California National Guard and was renamed the Palmdale Coast Guard Auxiliary. In 1971, the Coast Guard Auxiliary merged with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to form the California Office of Emergency Services. The agency was renamed as CAL FIRE in 1984.
The Palmdale, California area is a major city in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and one of the most populous areas in the United States. The population was 1,883,821 as of 2014. It is located on the Central Valley of California, about 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The valley was named for José Palma de la Hoz, who explored it in 1848. Today's Palmdale County was first formed in 1850 from part of Rancho Santa Anita. In 1856, John Sutter founded the Sutterland Land Company and sold land to farmers and ranchers across what is now Riverside and Imperial Counties. By 1914, when it became an incorporated municipality, Palmdale had a population of over 100,000 people and employed more than 200 people at its main businesses such as meatpacking companies, paper mills and citrus groves. A water tower built in 1924 remains one of town’s landmarks today. In 1959, Interstate 5 was extended through the center of town from Simi Valley to Ventura County along what would become known as State Route 92 (SR 92). As a result of this extension and other development within town limits during that decade-long period (such as the construction of new roads), much historicresidential fabric has been lost or replaced since then; however much can still be seen throughouttown thanks to numerous preservation efforts led by various organizations over time including theCity Council’s Historic Preservation Committee Today many people commute into downtown Los Angeles or take public transportation such as buses or trains which run through town on Main Street while also traveling on SR 92 which provides access to all typesof retail stores
Coast guard gift history goes back to the early days of American coast guard service. The first Coast Guard units were organized in 1790 and the present day coast guard is one of the United States government's most important law enforcement and security services. In addition to its duties as a protectorate of our Nation's coasts, the Coast Guard also has a rich history that can be traced back to 1800. In that year, Captain John Stevens became interested in sea-going traffic and decided to establish a coastal watch service on Long Island. The first unit of the Coast Guard was founded at Fort Nassau on Long Island on December 12, 1800. At that time, there were only three gunboats stationed along America's eastern seaboard- all manned by private individuals. From this initial effort, it was soon realized that a more efficient and effective system was needed and so on November 1, 1802, Congress passed an act authorizing the construction of four armed schooners called "Hinman" (later renamed "John Fitch"), "Wright" (later renamed "Plymouth")", and "Foulke" (later named "Allen"). These vessels were equipped with artillery fire for deterring piracy or smuggling operations on America's coasts. On October 3rd, 1803 President James K Polk signed into law an act establishing a two-year moratorium on any new regulations governing maritime trade so as to allow commerce to flow unimpeded through our ports without fear of governmental interference. It should be noted here that these moratoriums were not solely ceremonial; they served as an effective means for President Polk to get his message out about his desire for open trade throughout America without restraint from bureaus or other higher ups in Washington D.C.. In 1807 Commodore William Prentice sailed from Newport News Naval Shipyard with six merchant ships loaded with cargo bound for Cuba under the leadership of Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter who had been appointed Commander in Chief Ulysses S Grant's Expedition against Mexico City under orders from Secretary Clay Blair which arrived July 8th after months of hard fighting along the Mexican border during what is now known as The Mexican War Of Independence). Upon arrival at Guantanamo Bay Cuba BAE Systems Ships USNS Beulah (1806), Constitution (1807), Dallas (1808), Diamondback (1809)and Dolphin(1810) unloaded their stores and equipment onto Pier 2 which formed part of Spanish Colonial Havana Harbor until such time as repairs could be made to HMS Eagle then moored offshore while Americans built Fort Sumter opposite Havana harbor using materials salvaged from USS Chesapeake where she had been lost off Florida some years earlier when her captain Samuel Jones failed To list her after taking possession). For three weeks beginning September 20th Porter maneuvered Eagle around Cuban shores aided by men aboard HMS Resolution who patrolled off shore constantly looking for Spanish seamen attempting passage through Havana harbor which eventually led authorities TO suspect Russian connection when no Russians appeared . finally Action ensued resulting in Eagle grounding broadside upon masthead masts Orchard Key Light House about 10 NM SW Clearwater Harbor just before midnight November 5th & recapturing 4 Spaniards taken prisoner including1 Lieutenant Gomez de la Vega y Menendez who reported direct contact between Eagle & Mexicans ashore ..[The following account is based upon oral history given by Commodore William Prentice] On December 12th 1800 Lt Col George Augustus Stonington commanded forces consisting of five boatsWatching Point being established near modern day Islip Beach NY When patrolling Gulf Stream Strait mouth Gadsden Lighthouse bearing NNW appeared safe [sic] Vessel reported sighting land but not knowing if it was North Carolina or Virginia Vessel returned home safelyDecember 15th 2000 twice per month weather permitting

By 1860, there were over 50 businesses in Palmdale. In 1870, the Palmdale Post Office was established and remained in operation until 1915. In 1875, the Palmdale Railroad was established and served the town until it closed down in 1951.
