The history of fresh roasted coffee goes back to 1941 when Angelo's Coffee and Cafeteria began serving roast-to-order coffee from their own bean farm in Palmdale. After a few years they switched to grinding their own beans. This allowed them to create a high quality product that was unique and distinct from other coffeeshops on the market at that time. In 1957, Starbucks opened its doors for business in Palmdale with plans to serve up delicious caffeinated goodness right here at home! It wasn't long before word spread about this local favorite and people started lining up outside of their shop begging for cups of joe! As more businesses came into being around town including Caffeine & Coffee (later known as Bedrock Coffee), Barista Joe's (later known as Qdoba Mexican Grill), and Sleepy Hollow Roastery & Cafe all trying to gain a foothold in the rapidly growing caffeine scene, Fresh Roasted Coffee quickly became well-known and respected throughout Southern California!

The first coffee beans were roasted in Palmdale, California in 1887. The Palmdale Coffee Company was founded by John W. Cunningham and his brother-in-law, George Mueller. In 1912, the Cunningham family sold the business to Fenton Coffee Roasters Inc., a company based in San Francisco. The company changed its name to Fenton Coffee & Tea Co. in 1969. In 1971, the business merged with Stroud & Sons Coffee Company of Pasadena, California to form First American Coffee Corporation. The company was acquired by Jardine Matheson & Co., Ltd., an English company, in 1987. The company became a subsidiary of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited (JMH) and was renamed Australian Pacific Coffee Limited (APC) in 1999.

The first record of roasted coffee can be found in ancient Greece, where the Coffee God was credited with creating the beans. In 1795, Nicholas-Jacques Conte began importing Turkish coffee from Baghdad, and soon started exporting his product to Europe. By 1830, Dutch traders had reached Java and became interested in Indonesian coffee, which they traded for goods like ivory and spices. In 1833, British traders discovered Java and its rich variety of trees when they sailed through the Sunda Strait. They were so excited by this new discovery that they began trading with Indonesia for coffee beans. In 1838 Dutch traders settled in Zanzibar; here they started trading with Arabians who transported their beans north to Jakarta for roasting. Between 1839 and 1850 various small chains of Dutch traders operated out of Zanzibar; these dealers bought fresh ground beans from local farmers at auctions before shipping them off to different parts of Indonesia for grinding into coffee powder or espresso. In 1853 Prince Bernhard of Holland financed the establishment of an international cooperative group called the Rijkskrantekerk (Royal Press Club). This group was responsible for roastings and marketing our beloved coffee products worldwide. Together we developed methods for making better tasting coffees that have remained unbeaten to this day! Coffee started being exported from Java in the mid-19th century because it could only be grown in some definite areas—the humid tropics couldn’t support agriculture other than Sumatra because of its high elevation/temperature combination. Fresh roasted coffee wasn’t available outside those areas until after World War II when technology made it possible to grow light roasted beans near major cities around the world while maintaining quality standards

The Palmdale area of Southern California was first settled by the Tongva people in the late 18th century. In 1861, American Civil War veteran and contractor George C. Marshall donated land to the town for a military Cemetery. The first post office was established in 1865, and Palmdale grew rapidly from its rural beginnings into an agricultural center with a population of around 2,500 in 1920. By 1930, it had reached a population of over 10,000 and experienced rapid growth in industries such as appleseed production and film production. The city's nickname "The Golden City" is derived from its location at the confluence of two rivers – the Santa Clara River to the south and San Gabriel River to the north – which allowed easy goods transportation between both cities. The city's economy also depended on agriculture until World War II when it switched to machine tools, plastics, and other high-technology businesses. Afterward, Palmdale experienced significant economic decline during the 1960s through 1980s because of heavy pollution from oil operations and other industrial activities that destroyed local farmland. However, recent development has helped resurgence its economy as a bedroom community for Los Angeles County residents with strong ties to downtown L.A..
The Palmdale area was first settled in 1848 by the brothers Jedediah and Solomon Wells. A millinery store, post office, sawmill, and agricultural community were established here. The name of the town originated with a palo verde tree on the original site. In 1851, a school was built and in 1853 it became an incorporated city. The population grew rapidly during the Gold Rush era and by 1860 there were over 1,500 people living in Palmdale.
