However most buildings survived intact within their original nuclei even though some suffered minor damage or had windows replaced without consent due To wartime restrictions on rebuilds following war devastation like few stores being rebuilt after Hiroshima bombings because then glass could be used again ; elsewhere all old brick buildings were demolished or redone with new materials like concrete or steel which helped preserve them nearly 100 years later! Today much of downtown has been restored back into pre-war condition making it one of North America's most architecturally significant cities center for technology industry !!
