The United States Air Force has a rich history and culture dating back to World War II. The USAF is one of the most diverse air forces in the world and continues to provide service with distinction. The town of Paradise, California is located in San Bernardino County and is the largest town in that county. The population was 30,814 at the 2010 census. The land area of Paradise is 6,561 acres. It was named for the biblical Garden of Eden. Paradise has a mix of Northern and Southern Californian cultures with an Indian-American community which numbers over 2,000 people. There are also several churches in Paradise including the United Methodist Church and Baptist Churches as well as a Seventh-day Adventist Church. The local media company KABC-TV broadcasts from Paradise with studios on Via Linda Road. KABC's morning news show "Good Morning America" started out airing from their studio from 1978 until 2000 before moving to WNBC in New York City where it continues to air today. Paradise has three public schools: Mundelein High School, Hacienda Middle School and Desert View Elementary School which serve students grades 7 through 12; as well as two private schools: Hope Christian Academy and Canyon Crest Academy which serve students grades pre-K through 8th grade (or 9th through 12th grade if they are sixth or seventh graders). In addition, there is one charter school: Diablo Valley Charter School which serves students grades PreK through 8th grade (or 9th through 12th grade if they are sixth or seventh graders). The only hospital in town is Regional Medical Center which provides acute care services to patients who live outside of town or who have serious health problems that require more than standard medical attention.

Another popular aircraft within the USAF is the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle Fighter Jet. This jet was designed by McDonnell Douglas and first flew in 1998. It is one of America’s most versatile fighter jets and has been used for operations such as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The F-15 Eagle also played a key role in Flight 77 which crashed into New York City on September 11th 2001.

In 1868, residents voted to annex what is now Contra Costa County into the City of Paradise. During its early years, Paradise was known as a thriving agricultural center due to its fertile soil and plentiful water supplies. In addition to agriculture, other early industries include lumbering and mining. Today, there are few remaining industries in paradise but some new businesses have begun to arise such as health care providers, real estate agents, and restaurant chains. One significant event that took place in paradise during this time was Eliza Morse's wedding to John C Fremont on October 6th, 1848 at Golden Gate Park near today's Donner Pass bridge
On February 14, 1849, a group of Mormons led by Brigham Young arrived in the small town of Paradise, California. The town was founded by Father Miguel de la Luz y Ortega, who had emigrated to California in 1769. In 1851, the town population was only 10 people and it was primarily a ranching community. However, on April 12 of that year, Brigham Young's men built their first church in what is now downtown Paradise. The following year (1852), Mormon missionaries started arriving in Paradise and starting to preach the gospel there. In 1853-54, when gold was discovered nearsin east of Golden Gate Bridge on August 16th by prospector John Sutter and his brother Horace, paradise became an important port for shipping goods from the new goldfields being developed in Northern California. By 1861-62, the town had grown to over 100 people and it prospered as a trading post with its own mint and bank. But during the American Civil War (1861-65), most residents chose not to support slavery but fled or were driven out when hostilities increased around them. The last residents left for good in 1865 after a fire destroyed much of their property
