However, it reverted back to its original name in 1916 when it joined Fresno County as part of that county's new organization following statehood. On May 8th they had their first child – Anna Maria Coffin Parlier (1849-1915). Their second child was born two years later on October 17th, 1850 – Artemus Franklin Coffin (1851-1937). The early days of Parlier were hard ones with many challenges but also some great moments; such as when on November 10th 1852 Levi Coffin’s horse tumbled down a hill into a wellspring where he found himself unable to get back up because he could only use one hand! After spending weeks trying to find another way back up the mountain he finally found his solution when he discovered an old road leading south from downtown (now known as First Street) that he could walk down and access the spring from there instead! From then on things got much better for everyone involved; including Artemus Franklin Coffin who eventually became owner/operator of Justices grocery store where they sold fresh produce until 1955 when it closed its doors forever due to competition from Safeway which moved into the area soon afterwards!
