Patterson, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,813. The Patterson Volunteer Fire Department served as the fire department from 1907 to 1959. The first military unit to serve in Patterson was Company H of the 9th Infantry Regiment which arrived on July 17, 1907. From 1917 to 1923 the 1st Battalion of the 20th Infantry Regiment served here as an infantry battalion until it was disbanded due to World War I service and re-activated in 1917 again with some new members. In 1951 Company B of the 10th Cavalry Regiment arrived and patrolled this area until 1957 when it left for duty in Vietnam. In 1960 Unit C (North Dakota National Guard) arrived at Patterson and patrolled this area until 1964 when it also left for duty in Vietnam. On May 15, 1967 Army Reserve Company K (3rd Battalion), 11th Armored Cavalry arriving at Patterson from Saugus AFB units relieved Unit C from its duties effective that date. On October 14 1978 First Baptist Church opened its doors serving as a social center for military personnel stationed here with Chapel services conducted there every other week throughout most of 1979 before disbanding on December 31st 1979 due to budget cuts caused by defense spending reductions across all branches of government during that period known popularly as "The Reagan Years". In 1984 First Baptist Church reopened their doors serving as a social center for civilian residents living near Base Camp Alpha while Chapel services were conducted monthly there through most of 1985 before disbanding on July 30th 1986 because Base Camp Alpha closed following completion of Desert Storm operations then being used by UH-1E Huey helicopters operated by Marine Corps Combat Aviation Squadron VMA-181 during exercises REBORN '87 which took place at Edwards AFB prior to that time known commonly as Operation DESERT STORM . In 1990 United States Air Force detachment EWA-111F arrival at Patterson AFB providing support USAF Military Airlift CommandKC-135 Stratotanker equipped with refueling capability enabled CASA(Vpf) pilots assigned Special Operations Squadron 452 operating out of Mountain Home AFB Nevada conducting joint exercises USNORTHCOM SOUTHPAC 94 which took place at Greenville AFB South Carolina prior to that time commonly called OPERATION DESERT STORM II . The town of Patterson was founded by Captain C.H. Patterson and his family in 1907, and soon became a hub for military activity with its own post office, army barracks, and Supply Depot. In 1917, General John J. Pershing arrived in California to lead America’s entry into World War I and ordered the construction of a new military base in Patterson which would become one of the largest in the world. The base helped increase troop numbers in California while also providing an opportunity for soldiers to socialize and enjoy local amenities such as fishing, golfing, swimming, and tennis. After the war ended on April 6th 1918, many soldiers returned home to their townships but some continued garrisoning the army base until it was decommissioned in 1949. Patterson, California is a small town in the eastern Mojave Desert of California. It is located about 20 miles north-northwest of Las Vegas and about 25 miles east-northeast of Sierra Vista. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Patterson was established by Mormons in 1847 as an outpost on their way to Utah. The name Patterson comes from Brigham Young's recommendation for the site, which he called "The Meadows." By 1850, it had become a ranching community with over 100 residents. A new post office was opened in 1852 and the first store was built in 1854. In 1861, Patterson became part of Nevada Territory and then Arizona Territory before becoming part of California in 1865. In 1969, Patterson became the seat of Clark County when it was created from parts of Kern and Placer counties. Today, Patterson is one of the most heavily populated areas in Clark County with over 2,000 people living there (the others being Rancho Mirage and Woodland Hills). The economy is based largely on agriculture with some modest aspects including manufacturing and services such as health care and government services.

Patterson is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Lehman Ranch in east-central Kern County. Patterson was platted in 1879 and named for James Patterson, a captain in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The first post office in Patterson opened in 1881. The first store was established by Wm. Haggerty and Geo Folsom. In 1902, A & J's grocery store was built and operated until it closed in 1957. Charlie's restaurant opened as a drive-in restaurant on July 10, 1951, and served as the last commercial establishment open to the public before it shut down due to county fire code violations on December 5 of that year. In 1978–1979, Patterson became home to one of two "Granite State" quarries operating within Kern County; both have since been abandoned or are used for other purposes including agriculture and residential development outside of town limits (the Granite State Quarry ceased production altogether in 2006). Patterson has had its share of famous residents over time such as Orville Wright and Roy Rogers who also lived nearby from childhood until their deaths however most people know little about these people aside from their accomplishments within Patterson itself
