In early March 1942,the flagship of Task Force 34 Battle Group Rear Admiral Harry Wohlgemuth sailed into Ulithi HeIGHTS coral reef anchorage off Okinawa after rendezvousing with TG 34 Battle Group flagship USS Enterprise (CV-2). Both task forces participate in amphibious landings scheduled for April 6th near Okinawa harbor following successful carriers bombardment of Japanese installations preparatory thereto………. USS Enterprise landed Marines ashore at Inchon Castle twenty miles south of North Korea's capital Pyongyang…..USS Missouri (BB-63), escorting battleship Enterprise conducted gunfire support throughout operations ashore……….USS West Virginia (BB-68), screening battleship New Mexico supported mission ashore……………USS Texas (BB-35) provided minesweeping services during operation

Patterson is a small city in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 10,532 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno–Chico Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Patterson post office opened on December 3, 1887 and closed on February 14, 1959. It was located east of Fresno in a rural area now annexed by downtown Fresno. The first official use for the name "Patterson" was given to a Homestead Ranch by John C. Patterson in 1892 because he could not find an appropriate place to deliver goods from his ranch east of Fresno to Chico (now known as Madera). In 1902, John C. Patterson donated land for a new school which would serve the Patterson community; the first building was dedicated on October 1, 1903. In 1911 and 1912, two major floods destroyed many homes in town due to heavy rains that followed the San Francisco earthquake. Despite this damage and some loss of business due to lost customers and cancellations of orders during these hard times, Patterson persevered and saw rapid growth over the next few years as more people moved into town from surrounding villages and townships.
