The Petaluma Military Museum is the only museum in California that preserves and displays military gifts from the Petaluma area. The museum opened in 1984 and contains many items from the petalinguman military community. The collection includes weaponry, clothing,books, photos, and more. Petaluma, California is a city in Marin County, California, United States. The population was 8,811 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Petaluma Peninsula on the north coast of San Francisco Bay. The first Europeans to visit Petaluma were the Spanish in 1795 and they named it "Petralejo" which means "Island of Pearls." The town's name came from a petalum tree that grew wild near the town. In 1836, John C. Frémont explored and mapped parts of Marin County and discovered Petaluma bay while exploring Mission Bay for potential new land grants. When his party reached what is now downtown Petaluma they called it Eureka because there was an abundance of pearls in nearby Haight-Ashbury Harbor. In 1881, Charles Wiman bought 10 acres (4 ha) at Point Reyes National Seashore and built a small ranch house there which he named Wimanville after himself and his wife Winifred (Wiman). In 1906, Wimanville became part of Petaluma when he sold it to 87-year-old Mrs. Hilda Ladd Otis for $1 million dollars. Mrs Otis spent many years renovating the home until she made it available as a museum open to the public in 1965 In 1969, Steve Jobs moved from Silicon Valley to Palo Alto so he could start Apple Inc.. There he met his future wife Laurene Powell Jobs who worked as a press secretary for Stanford University before becoming Apple's first software engineer with her husband working on mainframe computers until 1976 when they left Apple to work on developing Lisa personal computer software development team at their home garage under Cupertino Safari Web site banner name “Apple Computer” - this company later became known as Pixar Animation Studios . After several failed attempts starting with Eddy Cue's aborted effort CAVE project started up again at their home garage using young Peter Moore - talented animator/coder who had just finished high school getting hired by then head programmer Bill Gates during summer internship at Microsoft Research Laboratory in early 1980s while also working odd jobs like painting fences for neighbors between 1985-1986 during lunch break when he met Microsoft research scientist Dragan Djuric who offered him job opportunity if he want too move back East since his family has some property east of Seattle but without power or water so He decided not too much hassle so He moved back East but kept his truck parked outside my former workplace – which was now called Microsoft Research Lab building where I used to work as an intern back then . From there I started learning about computer animation from Dragan Djuric who gave me some samples including one featuring Yoda from Star Wars ! After few months I quit my job search [at that time] and joined forces with another friend Bob Harris (later best known as lead programmer for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) to create one of most successfulcomputer animation companies ever founded – Pixar Animation Studios Today there are more than 400 employees working at Pixar Animation Studios making movies such as Toy Story 3; Inside Out; Wall Street Journal Best Selling Book author Diary Of A Wimpy Kid; Cars 2; Coco ; Monsters University; Up; The Incredibles ; Jak & Daxter game series etc etc etc... Some notable alumni include Pete Docter (director), Colette Chiappone (writer/creator), Jennifer Lee (director), Pete Docter's nephew Josh Trank(director), Wade Bird (artist), Amy Rimmer (artist) and RenderMan artist Nathan Crowley

Throughout its history, Petalula has been an important commercial center with several factories and businesses located within its boundaries. Today, Petaluma is home to many cultures including Japanese (particularly among the Yakuza), Italian (particularly amongst the Gaudium family), German (particularly amongst East Germans), Chinese (especially among individuals descended from migrants who came to California during the Gold Rush), and American Indian tribes such as the Hupa and Pomo people

In 1882, Petaluma lost its status as a city when it merged with neighboring towns El Sobrante and Daly City. However, it regained its former importance through its role as a center for transportation and industry during World War II. It experienced rapid growth following the war, becoming one of the most populous cities in California by 1960. However, economic decline began to set in during the late 1960s and early 1970s; Petaluma's population peaked at over 20,000 before declining to 16,000 by 1990. Today, it remains an important local community with a strong economy based largely on agriculture and government services
