The United States Air Force deployed a gift to the Piedmont community in 2009. The deployment was in commemoration of fifty years of service and support to the people of this region. The gift was a pair of F-15 Eagle Fighter jets, which were delivered by Boeing Co. The jets are currently part of the Air Forces Global Strike Command's flying museum in Kunsan, South Korea. The first jet unit to be stationed at Kunsan was the 388th Bomb Wing, also known as "The Wolf Pack." It arrived on November 25, 1959 and began operations from K-31A Montero Airport. The 388thBG flew Lockheed C-130 Hercules airlifters from Misawa Airport near Osaka before moving to Kunsan on October 15, 1960. On December 14, 2006, the 388th BG hosted its last USAF flight when it took off for Goodyear AFB with two E-6B Talon Sentry AWACS aircraft to fly over Japan during Emperor's Day celebrations. This event marked the end of 52 years of military service by members of this wing at Kunsan AFB! On February 1st 2007 AchievableMQM2 birds were released into the area surrounding Kunsan AFB to celebrate 50 years since LST 3761 departed Yokosuka Naval Base loaded with troops for Paju Island (now Incheon) in South Korea during Operation Market Garden! In celebration of 50 years since LST 3761 departed Yokosuka Naval Base loaded with troops for Paju Island (now Incheon), two AchievableMQM2 birds were released into the area surrounding Kunsan AFB on February 1st 2007!

Stratton of the 9th Bombardment Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio on December 15, 1941. The gift history was continued by Major General Clarence D. Evers of the Ninth Air Force and Lieutenant General James M. Gavin of the First Tactical Fighter Command on January 2, 1942 when gifts were received from the United Kingdom and Canada. On January 8, 1942 gifts were received from Japan.
Piedmont, California is a small town in San Diego County, California. It is located on the border of San Diego and Orange counties. The population was 7,827 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit Piedmont were Spanish missionaries in 1769. The area was part of Rancho Cucamonga Mexican land grant given to Juan Borrego by Governor Manuel Nieto in 1821. In 1848, Piedmont became part of the United States when California was acquired as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. In 1851, Piedmont became one of twelve townships that were organized into two districts within San Diego County named after British cities – London and Manchester – because these areas had been abandoned by European settlers due to their cheaper cost or lack thereof. Because it lay outside of any major city boundaries and because there wasn't much agriculture in Piedmont until the mid-19th century, little attention was paid to it until after World War II when growth began in nearby downtowns throughout Southern California brought about increased development pressure on rural neighborhoods such as those around Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties which bordered Piedmont on three sides.

Piedmont, California is a small city in the Central Valley of California. The population was 6,853 at the 2010 census and it is located about 60 miles south of San Francisco. Piedmont is named after the Piedmont Plateau in Italy. The name comes from Latin for "hill country." The first Europeans to visit this area were Spanish traders who sailed up the Sacramento River in search of new trade routes. In 1824, José de Arguelles party discovered oil prospectors living near modern-day Stockton and named them after their host, Don José Arguelles y Castilla. Less than a year later, on December 2, 1825, Father Borja del Castillo founded Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores), which served as a Catholic mission town until 1851 when it became part of Rancho Santa Clara. In 1851, John Cogan started ranching in what is now Piedmont and began to export hay to Stockton and other cities. By 1860 there were over 1,000 people living in Piedmont proper with many businesses and churches. Agriculture had become an important economicstay due to good rainfall patterns that allowed for high yields while also providing employment opportunities for men and women. In 1865 Commodore Matthew Perry's squadron under Rear Admiral Oliver Hazard Perry arrived off the coast of California looking for a way into Mexico City through Baja California; they foundered on shoals near modern-day Monterey Bay before reaching land some 150 miles south of Posey Cove where they landed on November 13th without sighting any Mexicans or Indians so great was their excitement at finally encountering one of their own kind again! Commodore Perry ordered his flagship Enterprise ashore towing a boatload of supplies which he then used as an encampment for his personnel during two weeks Adventurous travel inland before returning home on December 6th - thus becoming only the third American military unit ever ashore in Mexican waters! Upon landing at Monterey they erected a large flagpole opposite State House which still stands today! After three days exploring northeast coastal hills they headed back upstream towards shore but ran into treacherous currents making landfall again about 7 miles north-west of present day Pebble Beach just east of Isla Vista Cliff Road - this time leaving behind wrecked ships along with beautiful golden sand beaches! This action led General Samuel Moorehead tounits northwestward march all the way down Coast Ranges from Tijuana across Sonora Desert before converging at Eagle Pass en route downchannels leading north Isthmus Of Panama
