The first roasters were Tom's Coffee and Sons, who started roastning coffee in a small shop on Main Street. In 1915, the business was moved to what is now known as 7th Avenue and Broadway, where it continued to roast and ship out of California until 1964.
Placentia, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. The largest city in Kern County is Bakersfield. The first people to live in Placentia were the Ohlone Indians. In 1827, James Waddell founded what is now known as Waddell Ranch and began farming land that he purchased from the Ohlone. Waddell named his ranch "Placentia" after the Spanish word for "pregnant woman." He also built a small cabin on his property for himself and his family. In 1846, John Clements established a post office at Placentia and named it after himself because he had been sent by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to take possession of Rancho San Luis Obispo (later part of Kern County). Clements was soon joined by others in founding what would become Kern County. In 1850, Placentia became one of the original 27 townships in Kern County. A few years later, Placentia became home to its first school when Mrs. Jane Ritchie opened her home as an Academy for Young Ladies in 1854. That same year saw the opening of what is now known as Brown University, which then moved to Berkeley, California before settling permanently at the old Main Street School building on State Street in 1956. On December 12th 1912 residents of nearby Bakersfield voted 3-2 to incorporate as their own city with plenary powers over all aspects of local government within its borders including taxation and police service; Bakersfield did not ratify incorporation until January 14th 1913 following a referendum contesting certain constitutional provisions defining city boundaries On April 16th 1914 citizens of Bakersfield incorporated as City of Los Angeles through an act passed by both houses of the state legislature without any prior vote or discussion; thus began one long process leading up to today's City Charter which authorizes limited but extensive forms of direct democracy within its borders

In 1846, the residents of Placentia, California petitioned for statehood. The vote was in favor and the town became part of the new United States of America. The influx of settlers and growth in industry led to increased demand for water, so a factory was built on the shores of Lake Oroville to produce flour for local markets. The town also developed into a manufacturing center with businesses such as Singer Sewing Machine Company and Standard Oil Corporation. In 1912, Placentia organized its own school district which helped make it one of the most socio-economically diverse communities in California. The economy changed after World War II when production shifted from agriculture to defense industries. In 1951, Placentia lost its status as an incorporated city but still retained its right to vote and hold elections. In 1970, it merged with other nearby towns to form Solano County. Today, Placentia is a small community located within Solano County's borders and plays an important role in county government as well as being home to several schools and businesses.
On November 5, 1869, Placentia was founded by Captain George H. Deeds and his wife Elizabeth. The town was named for the placenta, a type of egg that is found in some animals. It took until 1893 for the first post office to open in Placentia. In 1912, a school was opened in Placentia and remains an important part of the community today. In 1916, the first movie theater was built in Placentia and remains an important part of the community today.
