The first coffee beans were grown in the area now known as Pleasant Hill, California. The first coffee shop in town was founded by two Dutch settlers named Cornelius and Johann Christophus van der Laan in 1795. In 1825, John Suckling opened the first post office in what is now Pleasant Hill. The town's growth continued through the early years of the 20th century. By 1920, there were six businesses in town and over 100 residents. In 1925, a water well was drilled within walking distance of town and began to produce water for local use. This led to an increase in population and business during the late1920s until World War II interrupted development. A major boost to the community came when construction began on Interstate 80 in 1945 which connected Los Angeles with San Francisco via Pleasant Hill. This increased traffic and prosperity which allowed for more businesses to open up and create more jobs for locals. With this new influx of people, new bars, restaurants, and stores started opening up throughout the 1950s until today when only a few remain from that time period such as Mrs.'s Place Coffee Shop (now closed) which was located on Main Street across from Central Park West High School at 137th Ave./Wickerham Rd., back then just off Highway 101 between 100th St./Wickerham Rd., past CenturyLink Field north of Centerville Road/UCLA Campus east of Harmon Avenue (now Stadium Drive), then down into Centerville Road/UCLA Campus before turning south onto stadium drive). During World War II many soldiers who served overseas returned home with pounds of coffee they had peddled back home while their units were stationed abroad. These soldiers brought their beans with them back to America where they set up various cafes along I-80 corridor starting near LOS ANGELES Airport before moving further south into Orange County coastline communities like Newport Beach Laguna Beach Santa Ana Irvine Carson Valley etc.. After World War II ended many cafe owners decided it would be best if they liquidated their assets rather than keep running their businesses as war production cessation created recessionary conditions especially following Korean Conflict when prices for coffee went up 50% due to limited availability; however some managed to keep running even though prices went much higher due to greater grades available from roastershops inland so these days you can find good quality coffees all over North America roasted by prestigious roastershops including several located right here at UCLA campus!

Pleasant Hill is a small town in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is located on the San Ramon Valley east of Stanislaus and north of Livermore. The townsite had been inhabited by the Ohlone people since before European settlement. The first post office in Pleasant Hill was established in 1879. The first coffee crop in Contra Costa County was planted in 1870 and did not reach maturity until 1872-73. In 1888, three farmers from Placer County began marketing their coffee through a system of four wagon trains that left Independence for Pleasant Hill each week. By 1890, about sixty settlers were living in Pleasant Hill and twelve businesses were licensed to sell coffee products including two grocery stores and two hotels. One year later, five more businesses moved into the town; this number rose to thirteen by 1895 when a water tower was built and an electric streetcar line arrived to connect downtown with the farms around town. This growth led to increased traffic on local roads which caused several accidents which also damaged business properties; thus, it became necessary for a new school building to be erected in 1896-97 as well as another garage and shed for storage facilities (the current school campus dates back to 1957). The introduction of whole milk into Contra Costa County during World War I led to an increase demand for coffee beans that resulted in lower prices per pound brought home than what could be found at local mills; this allowed Pleasant Hill residents to afford purchasing their own fresh beans rather than buying them from mill keepers or merchants who sold directly from large sacks under high priced tagsline items such as "For All Occasions". Consequently, many old photos exhibiting various activities associated with people living near Holy Cross Catholic Church show men sitting around tables drinking coffee while children play outside after services are finished...thus providing evidence that coffee continued being popular among civilians long after it had become common place for military personnel stationed within Contra Costa County limits."

By 1870, there were over 2,000 people living in Pleasant Hill; by 1880 it had reached 5500 people. The population growth led to increased competition for land and housing; between 1886 and 1890, Pleasant Hill experienced its most significant development period yet with the construction of several large blocks of homes that remain today iconic examples of Victorian architecture. Pleasant Hill's economy changed dramatically during World War II when many jobs went overseas due to the war effort. After the war ended, many residents returned to their former ways; however, some businesses continue to operate today including a local bookstore (the only one in town), two grocery stores, three appliance stores and four tattoo parlors. While not entirely spared economic hardships during recent years – such as major layoffs – overall life has remained relatively stable since incorporation into city government over sixty years ago

The first post office was established in 1872; it was called "Alta". The influx of settlers led to increased traffic on Mission Road which became an bottleneck for goods and passengers moving between Fresno and Cloverdale (now Alameda). A railway line was built from Stockton to Tomahawk Junction, providing access to other parts of California. As a result, more people started living in Pleasant Hill than ever before. In 1915, the name changed from "Alta" to "Pleasant Hill". In 1924–1925, two civil wars took place within California: one between Republicans and Democrats over control of state government, followed by another war with the People's Army (AFL) over control of local police departments. Many residents fought in these wars as volunteers or served as soldiers under General Pershing's American Expeditionary Force (AEF). Although not directly related to Pleasant Hill's history or residents, these conflicts have left their marks on the community- most noticeably through military veterans who have returned home after leaving service overall or playing roles in community development projects since then such as Watershed Management District Planner Bill Whitehurst currently working with US Fish & Wildlife Service’s East Bay Regional Park District."
