Our ancestors were a part of the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines who fought in Waco, Texas on April 19, 1913. They later fought at Zitadelle and Khe Sanh during World War II. In 1951, our battalion was redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company (Marine) Troop C-130 now known as 3rd Battalion 6th Marines. In 1969 we became Detachment Commanders with responsibility for all Marine detachments located in California including Camp Pendleton, Willow Grove Naval Air Station and Miramar Naval Base. Today we continue to provide gifts through our detachment commanders along with other support services such as restaurants, transportation and education programs that help make life easier for the families of military members stationed here.

Pleasant Hill, California is a city in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 17,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno–Visalia–San Joaquin Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pleasant Hill was founded in 1855 by George Pleasant and his wife Mary Ann Coolidge. The first post office in Pleasant Hill was established on December 12, 1856. In 1868, Pleasant Hills purchased land from John Sutter for $5 per acre. Today much of what once made up PleasureHill has been replaced with new development or destroyed as a result of fire or other natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina that struck New Orleans Louisiana two years earlier; however some parts including churches and schools remain standing proud reminders of what once happened hereabouts. One such reminder is the restored old schoolhouse which serves as an excellent place for community meetings or for services when needed most like during special events like weddings or funerals where large crowds are often required to be accommodated within reasonable limits!
