The United States Air Force deployed a gift to Poway, California in 1992. The gift was a McDonnell Douglas C-5 Galaxy air cargo aircraft. The plane was donated by the Air Force itself and is now used for training aerial refueling tanker pilots.
The United States Air Force Deployed a Gift of Art to Afghanistan this December in order to give back and help the people of that land. The gift was an art installation called "Blue Skies" which is made up of 6 large canvas paintings depicting Afghan beauty. Each painting is dedicated to a different Taliban or terror group, as part of Operation Blue Skies. The Installation was created by members of the USAF Airmen detachment stationed at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan, in collaboration with Kandahar urban art project. The installation will be on display from December 4th-8th at the Kandahar city library and open to the public from 10am-4pm daily. The artwork represents not only American effort but also global support for those fighting against terrorism, providing hope for the region and mankind as a whole. It is also a reminder that we are always there for our friends, whether they are located in Kabul or Kandahar.

The United States Air Force deployed gift history in 1946 when it organized the 1st Airlift Squadron. Gifts from members of the military and civilians were quickly shared among units, as well as between branches of the military. The squadron was activated at Love Field, Texas on August 29th, 1946 and soon became a staple in airlift operations. In 1953, the squadron was redesignated as the 601st Airlift Wing and its mission expanded to include cargo transportation within and beyond the United States. By 1966, gifts had become an integral part of wing operation with more than 5,000 items donated by members of the military and civilian communities. On October 15th, 1966 P-47s from Luke AFB flew into Love Field to deliver a shipment of Gracie Awards to regional universities. This event is often celebrated as one of the most memorable moments in gift history. In 1984, when unit colors were changed from silver to blue for better airborne visibility under combat conditions, 1 AACS bestowed its first gold award for excellence in air transport services – now known as The George Custer Award – on then Colonel James Doolittle III who led American forces during World War II’s Manchurian campaign. In 1992 1 AACS inducted its first woman officer into brigade status – Brigadier General Lori Aiken Hinton – who served with distinction during Operation Desert Storm while flying AH-6E Black Hawks over Baghdad airport. Since inception1 AACS has awarded more than $2 million in grants/ scholarships annually to deserving students throughout our community colleges system!

Some of these developments include Morningside Heights and North Park Square. Today, Poway is still an active community with many residents working in nearby cities and towns.
