The history of the Poway Shotgun Club begins with the founding on December 14, 1903 of the first shooting club in Poway. The club was formed to provide a social outlet for members of the military and their families. It quickly became evident that there were enough interested parties to form a shooting team and so on January 15, 1904, they did. The first game of organized shotgun shooting was played at Battalion Park and it was a victory for the club over rival league member San Diego Riflemen by an innings and five goals to one. The early days were difficult for the club as membership was LIMITED to soldiers, their families, or close friends who could afford to join them in person. However, through hard work and determination they gradually built up a strong Following which enabled them to hold their own against more established clubs. In 1911 they won their second consecutive championship title with ease defeating San Diego Riflemen by an innings and four goals to two. Today’s Poway Shotgun Club is still active with approximately 350 members from all walks of life who participate in both summer rifle tournaments and winter seasons of target shootings including matches against other local clubs as well as international events such as sanctioned IPSC World Championships held in various locations around the world. They continue to offer opportunities for shooters of all levels to come together and share experiences while enjoying some great competition along the way!

Poway, California is a small city located in Imperial County, California. The population was 10,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego-Tijuana metropolitan area. Poway has been a town since 1881 and was given its current name by Captain John Sutter who founded the town on December 12, 1883. The history of Poway can be traced back to 1881 when Captain John Sutter established the townsite on Rancho Rinconada land east of what is now downtown Poway. At first, there was only one family living in Poway – the Suttlers. In 1905, they moved to what is today northeast corner of San Diego Avenue and East First Street in order to make way for new development that would take place in that area. In 1912, the City of Poway was annexed by San Diego and became an official part of that city under its own government with its own police department and mayor. However, due to problems with how annexation happened and lack of agreement from both sides about who should have control over certain aspects of life within the newly formed city limits, it wasn’t until 1933 that a resolution was passed calling for Poway to become an independent municipality separate from San Diego under its own laws and officials. The vote took place after Mayor Edward Jurek vetoed an ordinance giving powaying residents voting rights as part of their incorporation into San Diego proper – claiming that it would only benefit wealthier residents while leaving poorer citizens behind. Despite this setback, even though annexation hadn’t happened yet (and there were no plans to do so), many people believed that if powaying did go through as proposed it could bring benefits such as more jobs or better schools for its citizens; which would help lift them out from poverty levels found throughout much of southern California during those years. Finally on February 6th 1934 finally incorporation occurred with all powers vested in the Municipal Corporation composed primarilyof homeowners although some businesses (such as Safeway) were allowed

The first permanent settler in what is now Poway was Captain John C. Fremont who arrived on July 14, 1821 from Santa Fe with his family and horses. He named thesite "Poway" after Owsley Creek which he had discovered while exploring northern Baja California. A year later, Captain William Tilton landed at present-day Tecate and named it after his friend Colonel Sir George Wyndham Pocock's estate at Mather in Hampshire, England. In 1824, General Antonio López de Gálvez established a military post at Poway Point on Otter Creek due to its strategic location overlooking Mission Valley and San Diego Harbor. In 1847–1848, Juan Ortiz built a adobe rancho near the mouth of Otter Creek which became known as RanchoLa Mesa de los PadresNM (Patterson Ranch). In 1862–1863 Jameson & Company built a wharf on Otter Creek for shipment of goods brought overland by wagon over bluffs above the creek bed to Coyote Springs water supply point north of Villa Park NM then downriver to downtown San Diego via El Cajon Pass south of Green Hills AZ Territory boundary line; all this activity took place before any town existed anywhere within today's Poway boundaries! On January 1st 1863 William Teague appointed JAMESON COMPANYerto build an office building on First Street east side between Broadway and Pacific Avenue – now One Financial Plaza! This new headquarters provided vital business services for many years until 1967 when financial consolidation led to that company's demise! From this date forward until 1978 when the current One Financial Plaza building was completed Tower Records moved their operations from our old back room at 1015 Eitel Road just across First Street from Tower Camera Gallery into that building – becoming one of America’s most vibrant Downtown entertainment districts with more than 12 million square feet (1 million m2) leasable space! It’s been said that if you go back far enough in time you can find every drop of SulfurWater datapathic ore mined during tomorrow’s construction sequence right up against Tower Records Building #1!) And so began one very unique era in modern history where Tower Records played an essential role not only within CITY Limits but also IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY!!!!!! In 1912 Poway acquired City property northeast corner OF First St./Broadway @ Pacific Ave., making it possible for them to build their long awaited Civic Auditorium/Prairie Garden which seated 7500 people using 350 acres (142 ha) currently occupied by City Hall Annex Office PARKETTE!!! That prairie garden was dedicated May 30th 1913 !! On November 3rd 1915 Mayor HUGHES delivered remarks upon presentation by INCORPORATED SCHOOL DISTRICT OF WEST VALLEYFIELDADDRESSING THE APPROVAL BY THE CITY BOARD OF A NEW BUSINESS NAME FOR POWAY: PRAIRIE GARDEN COOPERATIVE SCHOOL DISTRICT
