The Rancho Cordova Shooting Club was founded in 1913. The club has been a part of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department for more than 100 years. The shooting range is located on North Park Avenue and is open to the public every day from 9am to 3pm. There are currently over 200 firearms enthusiasts that attend the range monthly, including members of the sheriff's department and other law enforcement agencies. In 1969, the Rancho Cordova Shooting Club became an affiliate of the NRA. At this time, it became one of only a few firearm ranges in California that offered training courses for NRA members. In 2002, NRA member Bob McDonald donated $10,000 to fund a new shotgun chambering room and muzzleloader rifle chambering room at the shooting range. These two rooms allow shooters to shoot ammunition with different types of guns without having to buy separate rounds for each gun type.
