Brown and his family. It was named after Rancho Vallejo, which was a Mexican land grant given to George Brown. The rancho covered 160 acres and had a population of 100 people at its peak. In 1911, Rancho Cucamonga became part of the newly formed County of Los Angeles and remained unincorporated until it incorporated as a city on January 1, 1994. As an unincorporated community, Rancho Cucamonga has no governing body other than its own citizens and has no police or fire force - these services are provided by the City of Los Angeles. Today, Rancho Cucamonga contains a number of businesses that provide employment for locals as well as visitors who come to visit the area. Restaurants such as Mr Chow's Chinese Buffet and Sushi Don't have any seating inside but offer outdoor seating under umbrellas if desired; they also offer take-out service outside throughout the day. Rancho Cucamonga, California was first settled in 1847 by the Tongva people. The rancho was most likely named for Rancho del Río Grande, a Mexican grant that had been acquired by Antonio Palou in 1834. Rancho Cucamonga was initially developed as an agricultural area and is now a popular tourist spot for its scenic beauty and interesting history. The original land encompassing Rancho Cucamonga was part of the Spanish Empire and it is thought that the Tongva were among the first people to live in what is now Los Angeles County. In 1847, Juan Bautista Corral granted three parcels of land to James Marshall, Sam Hill and John Sutter. These men were responsible for developing what would become Rancho Cucamonga. In 1861, Captain John Wolkentin organized a group of cavalry officers under the command of General George Armstrong Custer to search for gold near Sacramento. On July 25, 1861, they discovered some small amounts of gold at Chavez Ravine on present-day San Bernardino County Road 10 east of La Crescenta. They soon realized that this discovery could not be exploitation because there was no known way to reach it from where they were located. This led to their decision to abandon their exploration efforts and return home with their findings. It wasn’t until 1886 when American Indians started arriving in California and began engaging in cattle drives across the state into Nevada Territory. This led to a change in policy at Fort Yuma which allowed Indian traders access unrestricted access to goods inside Mexico City without permits from either government entity However, upon learning about this trade route, Governor Manuel Micheltorena ordered Lieutenant Colonel Augustus Stirling (the military governor of Californias southern portion) to close down all Indian trading posts within his jurisdiction on October 30th after learned about the threat posed by these traders). As a result of this order, many Indian families became homeless and overpopulation ensued due to lack of food alternatives outside of California since most trade between Mexico City and Southern California took place through Santa Ana River crossings which were closed off by army patrols during this time frame). A surveyor named Hiram Maxim designed irrigation systems specifically suited for growing cotton on eight thousand acres adjacent today’s city limits; he also built roads connecting his fields with those around Stockton via Mulholland Drive Today’s city boundaries are actually expansions onto former Maxims fields! THESE ARE THE EARLY DAYS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY! Only two years later (1888), another group of American Indians led by William Halsey invaded Mexico while military forces occupied Puebloan lands east Of Angeles Pass; subsequent US Army operations resulted in 5 hundred treaty violations against these Native Americans including arson etc.; Chihuahua Attorney General José Joaquín Murrieta filed case against United States Government but no action taken until after Mexican Revolution when several prominent US citizens got money from Anglo-American interests – see War Against Cochise (1911)).
