Rancho Cucamonga is located in San Bernardino County, California. It was founded on November 16,1874 by three brothers, Manuel, Antonio and Juan Cucamonga. Rancho Cucamonga became a part of the city of Riverside in 1907. The rancho consisted of over 106 acres and it was divided into twelve sections which were sold off to different people. In 1912, about one hundred families moved to Rancho Cucamonga from other parts of the county. The introduction of radios and automobiles allowed for more open space on the rancho and this led to increased competition for land and jobs between ranchers and farmers. By 1951, there were only six farms left in Rancho Cucamonga while twenty-four farms were in use by residents. The population reached 4,000 during the late 1940s but fell to 2,500 by 1960 due to migration within California as well as outside migration because of World War II. During the 1960s through 2000s there has been a slight increase in population with an average census count ranging from 3,746 in 2000 to 5,246 in 2010. The first structures built on theranchos property were Adobe Walls which are still standing today at 8251 N State Rd 175 #203 (now known as US 101). There was also a gristmill which operated from 1875 until 1881 when it burned down due to weather conditions that year (according to local history). A post office was established at Rancho Coyote Creek on December 15th 1850 by Captain John Sutter who named it after his horse Coyote Creek which he had bought from Mexican General Santa Anna’s forces near present day Fillmore City (now Riverside). On May 10th 1861 wagon trainloads of settlers arrived at what is now called Adobe Walls; all but two men disembarked here because they did not have horses or vehicles available for transportation upriver further into California. No buildings were erected here until 1874 when our threeenos brothers Manuel Antonelli (age 26), Antonio Alcala (age 24) and JuanCuccaini built an adobe cabin/gristmill/post office/tent factory inside what is now known as Adobe Walls’ original footprint – originally measuring 50 feet wide by 30 feet long with four entrances facing east and west along State Road 175 (#203) just south of I-10 across from Topanga Canyon National Park entrance Rampart Drive today! In 1880 another small post office opened at milepost 9 on Powerline Road northwest of Old Hacienda Hotel; this building still stands today next door to Del Monte Winery & Distillery! The last post office closed its doors October 14th 1954! In 1905 power came ashore ashore ashore about a half mile east side Of present day HWY 101 bridge over Big Tujunga River between Rinconada Villa & Laguna Seca; approximately 100 pine trees grew near shoreline making electrical connection necessary for early telephone service! From 1902 thru 1916 various cattle drives took place each year crossing Big Tujunga River where later WWW HQ would be located [later becoming Redlands]. All drivers returned home via El Centro Pass before continuing their journey northward down Big Tujungas’ eastern bank past Spring Valley Junction] prior landing opposite present day red barnsite on power line road above junction]; some passengers stayed overnight receiving hospitality courtesy [of?] ranchers along the way The first townchartered incorporated under state law Juana Lopez de Cordova 37 days after Pico Peak Gold Rush began February 17th 1849 A few miles Southwest corner desert Street signifying new arrival town boundaries ] On November 16th 1874 Brothers Manuel Antonelli(26), Antonio Alcala(24)and JuanCuccaini founding Rancheraje Presbyterian Church -all structures including church remain standing today
