The Navy has a long and proud history in Rancho Cucamonga. The city was named after Commodore John Sutter, who founded the first naval base in California in 1847. The Navy built its first shipyard here in 1853, and the Naval Air Station Seal Beach was established here in 1927. The Naval Hospital opened here on April Fool's Day 1933, the first major hospital for the Navy outside of Washington D.C. Today, NAS Seal Beach is one of America's most important military facilities, with a variety of warships used for training and operations across oceans. Today, the Naval Shipyards are responsible for building not just American ships but many foreign vessels as well. In addition to USS Enterprise (CVN-72), which replaced USS Forrestal (CV-3) at NAS Seal Beach in 2006, several other warships have been built at NAS Seal Beach over the years: HMS Invincible (LF94), HMS Queen Elizabeth II (HS836), HMAS Perth (AO282), and HMAS Melbourne (AO281). More recently, both Dock 7 and Dock 8 have been added to serve as berths for new amphibious warfare ships such as USS Landing Craft Infantry(LCI(X)), SSN 721(Pelican) and USNS LSM-521(Robalo). The San Diego Fleet Museum is also located within walking distance of NAS Seal Beach; it features exhibits about San Diego’s naval history from before it became a city through to current day activities associated with the navy presence there!

Rancho Cucamonga is a city located in the San Bernardino Mountains of the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The population was 103,530 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of Riverside County, and it is also part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. Rancho Cucamonga is bordered by Carson City to the east, Ontario to the north, Pomona to the northwest, and La Verne to the south. The first people who came to Rancho Cucamonga were Native Americans who lived there for hunting and gathering purposes. They later built some homes here and started ranching operations. A group of Spanish families founded a ranch here in 1847. Around this time, they named it Rancho de la Cañada de las Mulberry trees after one of their friends, Manuel Cañada. Some years later, they sold this land to an American family named Peralta. The Peraltas continued to own this land until 1907 when it was given back to Mexico by President Theodore Roosevelt as part of Treaty OF Guadalupe Hidalgo which ended Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1902, Harry S Truman became President of America; he decided thatouniversityin westcoastcityofLA should be built in what was then rural areas near Los Angeles so that students could get an education without havingto travel too far away from home or worry about getting lost in all those hills! So Congress passed legislation giving him control over USU and gave him authority over building on any public land within 3 miles (5 km) of LAX airport! This put USU right next door to LAX – perfect for commuting students into/out of town! Rancho Cucamonga, located in southeastern San Bernardino County, California, was the original land grant to the current City of Rancho Cucamonga. The name "Cucamonga" is early Spanish for a marshy area and it is said that General Gabriel Moraga named the place after his friend and mentor, Baron de Monterey. The first residents of this region were Mexican Californios who ranched on the east side of missions Hill. In 1853, following Mexico's admission into the United States as a republic, American settlers began to arrive in what is now southeastern San Bernardino County. Many of these men were veterans of the Mexican-American War (1846-48), which had ended with Mexico's defeat at Baytown Pass. These new Americans wanted their own piece of California and they set about acquiring additional land grants. One such settler was John Sutter, who arrived in 1857 and founded Sutter's Fort at present day Riverside City. Sutter soon realized that he needed more than just grazing lands for his cattle; he needed water too. He built several reservoirs over time and granted rights to others who would build canal systems connecting them to local rivers. This prompted other settlers to comeos – people from outlying areas looking for opportunities within reason – including James Irvine in 1882 and George Hearn in 1907. In 1911, ranchers Ekkehard Berner and Maurice Peterson purchased 2 million acres (8 km2) along Simi Valley Road from William Randolph Hearst for $1 million dollars ($12 million today). This purchase marked a turning point for Rancho Cucamonga because it gave rise to one of Southern California's most important agricultural regions: The Central Valley Agricultural District included portions of southern Kern County as well as eastern Los Angeles County and much of Orange County where cattle are still grazed today
Rancho Cucamonga was founded in 1879 by Mexican immigrants, José and María Cucamonga. The name of the rancho comes from the word "cucumber" which is Spanish for garden. Rancho Cucamonga became a part of the United States in 1850. In 1907, it was annexed by Los Angeles County.
