Rancho Mirage, California is a small city in Riverside County, California. It was founded in 1907 by Major General James Irvine as Rancho Mirage Park. The name was changed to Rancho Mirage in 1916. The city was incorporated on May 10, 1923. In 1957, the city became an enclave within the county of Riverside and it remains part of that county today. As of 2016, the population of the City of Rancho Mirage was 54,773 people living in an area of just over square miles (1 km²). The area now encompassed by Rancho Mirage has been inhabited for at least 5,000 years and may have started out as a hunter-gatherer settlement known as Mira Mesa. In 710 A.D., Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo discovered what is now Los Angeles County while sailing under Orca Peak and named it after his home town - San Diego - he reached America's most northerly point on this continent. From here he explored much of what is now southern California before returning home in 1492 aboard Columbus' flagship "San Salvador". In 1872 Chihuahua Governor Manuel Antonio Juárez granted title to Alvarado de Herrera to 1 million acres (4,000 km²) around present-day downtown Lodi which included most of what is now east Los Angeles County and parts of Orange County and Riverside County adjacent to both counties were annexed into Riverside County between 1874 and 1888 with only villages (Mira Mesa, Agua Dulce) remaining outside the boundaries given their subject status as mission townships or pueblos under Mexican rule rather than municipalities with popular sovereignty enjoyed by Californios prior to annexation. Following Mexican independence from Spain on November 16th 1821, American settlers began arriving from Southern California via Baja California until about 1850 when numbers dwindled due mainly to disease outbreaks among Native Americans who had earlier encountered early European settlers uninvited and unprotected during winter months when open water lagoons lay barren nearby including present day OC beaches where seals are common during summer months

Since its establishment as a national security force, the Coast Guard has played an important role in saving lives and helping alleviate humanitarian crises around the world. Rancho Mirage is a small city located in Riverside County, California. The city was founded by Antonio Rancho on the now-vanished Rancho Mirage Golf Course in 1907. The name comes from Spanish "riquez", meaning "ranch" and "mirage," which refers to the natural beauty of the area. In 1911, Antonio's son, Juan Bandello, sold the course to Harry Houdini who later purchased it and renamed it Happy Valley Golf Club. In 1926, the club changed its name to Riviera Country Club after purchasing adjacent land known as Rinconada Mesa. In 1928, Happy Valley Golf Club became one of eighteen golf clubs granted membership by The American Golf Association (now America's golf association). Over time, many other well-known golfers have played at Riviera Country Club including Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods among others. In 1990, Riviera Country Club merged with nearby Loma Prieta National Monument creating what is now Rancho Mirage Municipal Airport. At that time, Rancho Mirage had a population of just over 4500 people and was home to two high schools - Our Lady of Guadalupe High School and Mirror Lake High School - as well as an assortment of businesses such as an insurance office and post office. Today ranchomiragegov has annexed much of neighbouring community La Quinta which has seen a resurgence in development over recent years culminating with the opening of RMCG’s first mixed-use development – The Grand View – in late 2017%. The history of ranchomiragegov can be traced back to 1907 when Antonio Rancho purchased land around today's municipal airport for $1 million dollars making him one of the earliest developers in town. By 1923 he had built a small hotel/motel on what is now corner Of La Quinta Boulevard & Interstate 5 South while also beginning construction on his own private stadium that would become known as the "Rancho Mirage Arena". This facility would eventually host both local college basketball games as well as international tournaments along with several other events throughout its short life span including three US Open Championships hosted by Los Angeles Clippers co-owners Jerry West and Chris Paul!
