In 1921, USS Constitution (CGN-4) transported troops and supplies from Guantanamo Bay Cuba to San Diego, CA. The USS Constitution was then moored at the old Japansen Marinas which is now part of Point Loma Naval Air Station. On December 8th, 1921 USS Constitution discharged troops and supplies at anchor off Point Loma after a six day voyage. This event is also celebrated annually as Deconstruction Day by the Naval Reserve Officers’ Association (NROA). In 1941, during World War II Naval forcesMultinational Force East was activated and stationed in Southern California providing logistical support for American Expeditionary Forces fighting Nazi Germany. A number of gifts were given during this time including a destroyer HMS Eagle (DDR-19) and an ammunition vessel MV Augusta (AO-2). Rancho Santa Margarita, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is located on Donner Pass Road east of Yosemite National Park. The rancho originally belonged to José María Cámpora y Fierro and was granted to him in 1846 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena. The name "Santa Margarita" means "holy mountain" in Spanish and was chosen because it was the highest mountain outside of California at that time. Today, Rancho Santa Margarita's namesake mountain is Donner Peak which overlooks most of the town. Some early settlers were Juan Bautista de Anza and his brother Miguel de la Veta y Pacheco who founded Mission San Fernando Rey del Oro about 1776 on what is now the eastern edge of Rancho Santa Margarita. In 1853, Johnne Hildebrandt sold land near present-day Manteca for $5,000 to Mexican national José Joaquín Abulafia. He then subdivided the land into parcels and sold them off one by one until he had a total of . From this original parcel purchase only two remain: ( north-south) and (east-west). These streets are still numbered from their original location: Main Street & Donner Drive/Road 1; North Main Street & East Donner Drive/Road 2 In 1906, Rancho Santa Margarita incorporated as a city under State law provided that its citizens “shall be entitled” to vote in municipal elections but they did not have “the right to own or possess any property within the limits thereof” according to City Clerk Cecil Soto when writing up incorporation papers for that year A fire destroyed most of the town center day after day during 1904-1905 drought conditions which also caused widespread destruction throughout Kern County including homes, barns, churches and other buildings all razed including 5 blocks south of current day Donner Pass Rd between Main St & Pico Blvd just past current day Adobe Walls Rd which became known as “The Ghetto” due to large number of African American residents living there at that time

Rancho Santa Margarita is a ranch located in what is now the city of Thousand Oaks, California. The Rancho was founded by Antonio Palomo on January 24, 1853 and was named for theSanta Margarita River which ran through it.
