Rancho Santa Margarita is a small town in the Inland Empire of Southern California. It was founded by Rancho Santa Margarita de Cucamonga, a grant from Governor Manuel Nieto on November 7, 1881. The name "Santa Margarita" means "the good ole days." At its peak in the 1920s, Rancho Santa Margarita had over fifty thousand residents and produced more than one million pounds of coffee. In 1948, the Roastery at Rancho Santa Margarita began making coffee for Keurig Brewers. The first Keurig Brewer was sold to Mike Adams of Adams Coffee in 1978. By 1984, all Keurig Brewers were manufactured at the ranch and all coffee beans were roasted there. Today, the ranch hands continue to roast and grind coffee for local retailers including Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Hario's Coffee & Craft Beers and other local businesses who use their beans for their own products or sale through roadside stands throughout the region.

Rancho Santa Margarita is a small, unincorporated community located in San Bernardino County, California. Rancho Santa Margarita is a ranch located in southeastern San Diego County, California. The ranch was founded by Rancho Santa Margarita gentleman Manuel Antonio Noriega in 1884. It has been run by the family of Juan Pablo Noriega since 1945. The name of the ranch comes from a Spanish phrase meaning "holy ground," which is what it originally became when Manuel Antonio Noriega purchased it from the indigenous peoples who lived there for centuries. The ranch came under Mexican jurisdiction following Mexican independence and then American occupation, until it was granted to Francisco Pacheco in 1912. During World War II, the Japanese interned many Americans on the property, and one of these was truck driver John F Kennedy, who spent time at Rancho Santa Margarita as a child. In 1990, part of Rancho Santa Margarita reverted to Mexican ownership following negotiations between Mexican President Carlos Salinas and U.S. president George H.W. Bush Sr.. In recent years, much attention has been given to Rancho Santa Margarita's connection to organized crime figures such as Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and Andres Escobar; however, little actual evidence exists linking these individuals with the ranch or its activities specifically during this time period

Rancho Santa Margarita was founded in 1844 by Juan Bautista de Anza and his wife, María Christina Rojas. The name derived from the nearby Santa Margarita River. The rancho consisted of 6,000 acres (2,500 hectares) of land with a population of around 100 people. It ran from north to south along the San Joaquin Valley, with a small outpost at present-day Visalia located on the east side. In 1847, Fray Junípero Serra founded a mission at Rancho San Antonio del Carmelo al norte which served as the primary center for cattle breeding and ranching in California. In 1849, Rancho Santa Margarita was granted to José Felipe Carrillo y Tejada. This grant included 5,000 acres (2 km²) of land that extended from modern-day Pleasanton to just south of Indio Junction on Interstate 40. Carrillo y Tejada began farming this land and built up a large herd of cows and calves which he turned into milk cows which were marketed throughout California. By 1860, there were over 1 million head of cattle on the ranchoSantaMargarita alone! In 1861 Mexican War veteran Don Carlos Ortiz arrived in Southern California looking for new grazing lands after being discharged from duty in Mexico City during the war. Ortiz purchased 2,500 acres (900 hectares) adjacent to Ranchos Santa Margarita and Chico from José Felipe Carrillo y Tejada for $8 per acre ($1/km²). He named his purchase Rancho La Purísima Concepción de Dios or "The Purest Conception" because it had been away from contact with man since before any humans had ever set foot on it! Ortiz continued to farm this land until his death in 1916! During World War II much of what is now southern Kern County was part of Imperial Japanese Army territory living under Japanese occupation during World War II. Many homes and schools were destroyed during that time as well as many other structures including churches and hospitals!. After Japan's surrender in 1945 most former Japanese military personnel were processed through government-run camps such as Yuma concentration camp before being Released into American hands.. In 1949 Californian Republican Senator Estes Kefauver visited Yuma camp where he saw firsthand how terrible conditions were there!! That same year Kefauver introduced legislation designed to help returning service membersadjust back into civilian life.. After years of campaigning by Kefauver & others thousands more soldiers & civilians arrived at Yuma over the next several years !!
