The first airplanes to use the new airport were Republic P-47 Thunderbolts from escort squadrons RAF No. 609 (No. 379) and RAF No. 707 (No. 460). With its population growing rapidly, the military presence dwindled and by 1951, only a single fighter squadron remained at the airport. In 1967, Aeronautical Services Corporation leased Airport Boulevard from the Town of Red Bluff for $1 million per year until 1984 when it sold the lease back to town control for $1 million per year through 2021. In 1992, Aeronautical Services Corporation leased Airport Road from town control for $2 million per year through 2021; however, it sold both leases back to town control in 2013 for an undisclosed amount annually through 2024 according to city records. As of 2021, Aerojet Rocketdyne currently owns all three airports - Municipal Aviation Field #3 (RNAV), Aeronautical Services Corporation's former Aircraft Storage &ivery Facility #2 (ASF-2), and Aerojet Rocketdyne's current Maintenance hangar #7 - making them collectively known as "Aerojet Rocketdyne's Three Arrows".
