The Redding Army Museum has been entertaining the community for over 50 years. The museum is dedicated to honoring the history of the Redding Army and its members. The museum includes a collection of military gear, uniforms, memorabilia, and various items from World War II. In addition to exhibit space, the museum also offers a restaurant which serves up American-style cuisine. The museum is open every day except Christmas from 9am to 5pm. Redding is a town located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The town was founded in 1868, when the United States government bought Rancho Redding from the local Native American tribe. The first residents were Spanish and Mexican immigrants who arrived in search of land to farm. Over time, other cultures were brought into Redding as well, including African Americans and Asians. In recent years, Redding has become an agricultural center with a focus on crops such as apples, potatoes and cotton. Redding's history can be traced back to 1868, when the U.S. government purchased Rancho Redding from the local Native American tribe. The purchase was made to provide grazing land for livestock and future soldiers during the Mexican-American War. Upon its acquisition, Rancho Redding became part of public domain and was used for various purposes including farming and ranching until it was given over to the state of California in 1912. In 1912, Rancho Redding passed through several hands before being sold to John Drysdale for $1 million dollars ($100 million today). Drysdale had intentions of turning it into a country estate complete with tennis courts, swimming pools and a golf course. However, due to World War I efforts by Drysdale (and later his son) Jeffery Jantzenden Drysdale Jr., red dust caused by his mining operations ruined much of what had been built at rancho redding over time - though some portions have still been preserved since then; such as The Ritz Carlton hotel which opened in 1934 on former office space that once housed Brush Shop mine workers' barracks (now open as a museum). The success of Jeffery Jantzenden Drysdale Jr.'s property led him to buy additional parcels within downtown Redding in 1925; which eventually became known as "The Hill". This area now contains many shops and restaurants along with theaters and art galleries – giving it significant commercial importance today despite having no living inhabitants apart from a few staffers at municipal agencies like fire services or parks department run by city staff members instead (though there are plans to bring back live music events downtown soon). Downtown redevelopment began slowly in earnest after World War II thanks largely to Mayor Harry Bridges – who saw potential for growth among veterans returning home following their service overseas but also because he felt that tax breaks could go towards moreIDESIOUS projects than just new housing developments without putting any jobs out there instead – meaning that businesses could stay open while other parts of town took on increased development intensity overnight without consequence or input from those entities responsible for preserving older parts of town character & flavor (& economy!). It wasn’t until after Bridge died suddenly & unexpectedly just shy OF HIS 50th birthday THAT ANYTHING REALLY STARTED TO CHANGE AFTER THAT! From then on things kinda just picked up steam–kinda like they do nowadays whenever someone mentions Downtown redevelopment IN conversation! 😉
