Air force deployed gift history in Redondo Beach, California goes back to the early 1940s when the United States Air Force stationed a detachment of personnel in coastal town of Redondo Beach. The detachment was quickly renamed the "Redondo Beach Air Force Base Unit" and served as a primary airbase for Navy pilots training during World War II. The unit also provided support to local businesses and individuals by providing goods, services, andeven clothing to local citizens. During the Korean War, the Air Force again returned to Redondo Beach with an air wing. In 1956, when it became apparent that Los Angeles County would become part of California, the USAF detached its operations from Redondo Beach AFB and relocated to Torrance CA. From Torrance AFB, the USAF flew bombers into LOS ANGELES Airport for combat missions over South Korea. In 1970-1971, AFB reopened as a Joint Base with neighboring Naval Station Seal Beach which continued to provide military activities at both installations until 1992 when both bases were closed due to budgetary cuts within US Defense Department budgets. As Joint Base Seal Beach eventually became known as Alameda Naval Station after Marine Corps headquarters moved there in 1993-1994; AFB's role in USAF gift history diminished but not entirely eliminated. It is currently unknown if AFB ever reopened completely as it has been inactive since 1994 according to public records). However its designation as "Redondo Beach Air Force Base Unit" remains etched into community memories related thereto including annual attendance at city/county fairs commemorating former members of redondobeachafb (currently known as RBAU) such as parades & reunions held throughout Orange County every year on or around September 15th - aka Father's Day in Southern California!

Redondo Beach, California is a city located in Southern California on the Pacific Coast. The population was 40,649 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Redondo Beach has been a popular tourist destination for many years and its rich history has made it an important center of culture and commerce in Southern California. The community was founded on September 15, 1903 by two brothers who named it after their native town of Redon (now part of Amherst, Massachusetts). The first post office opened in 1904. On October 1, 1905, the name was changed to Redondo Beach. The first school opened in 1907 and the first store opened in 1909. The town got its incorporation as a city on December 3, 1912. Redondo Beach had significant naval activity during World War II including USS "Tin Can" which took part in Task Force 38 which sank Nazi submarines off southern France on June 10th 1942; USS "Prairie" which bombed Japanese targets at Rabaul; USS LCS-7 which served as flagship for Commander Fifth Fleet during carrier operations against Japan from August 1944 to October 1945; USS PCL-1 aground off Point Conception July 1st 1944 while attempting to refuel aircraft carriers off Leyte Gulf; and USCGC "Hagride" which transported troops and supplies into Lingayen Gulf during Operation Market Garden when Philippine Air Forces attacked Luzon Island on November 8th 1944

Redondo Beach is a city located in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 67,254 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego-Arlington-Valley and Orange counties. Redondo Beach began as an Indian village on the mouth of the Redondo Creek, about southeast of downtown Los Angeles. From 1840 to 1851, it was under Mexican rule and was known as Rancho Santa Anita de la Cañada Flinta. In 1853, after California became a state, the U.S. government took over Mexican land east of the river and gave it to los Angeles Californios (LA), who renamed it Redondo Beach in honor of Commodore John Danker's visit in 1846 from San Francisco Bay Area port town Monterey on his way to become governor of California. The first white person to live in what is now Redondo Beach wasCaptain George Beale who landed with his ship " Discovery" at Point Loma on October 15th 1850 while exploring for new trading grounds near today's Downtown LA. He named his community after himself - Bealeville - which he built ashore on Laguna Honda Boulevard between Third Street and Fourth Street SE in what would later become Marina del Rey (now Delray Beach). This early settlement had no connection whatsoever with any current residents or businesses here today; it simply comprised a few scattered houses at most along Laguna Honda Boulevard and Noons Rd., just south of present day Harbor Drive SW corner First Avenue NE." Captain George Beale opened up some stores here during this time frame mercantile activities were primary among those conducted by early settlers only later becoming residential areas: "Bealeville prospered until 1861 when its fortunes changed abruptly with silver discoveries offshore spawning a wave of immigrants seeking single family homes within minutes' sailing distance from shoreline."
