Redondo Beach, California is a city in the County of Orange and the seat of Santa Ana. It is located on the Pacific Ocean east of Los Angeles and north of San Bernardino. As of 2016, The City had a population of 44,241. The first organized shooting scene in Redondo Beach took place on December 5th, 1911 when five friends went to a dance at the Mayfair Hotel. They met three men who were also shooters: Harry Callahan, Gus Fenton and Al Capone. The first gun store in Redondo Beach was established by J.C. Whitney in 1914 and he sold shotguns, rifles and pistols as well as ammunition; it was the only store open at that time in Redondo Beach proper. In 1916 A&P Gun Shop opened up next door to Whitney’s store and served both local residents as well as tourists visiting Leland Ranch east of town during that period (today's Palms Towne Center). In 1934 regulations changed with respect to guns being bought or leased outside state lines so businesses such as A&P were forced to close their doors for good due to government regulation; however they reopened after a short closure while they complied with new laws. One assailant fatally shot one employee before turning his weapon on himself after leaving for cover; this event is now known as ' shooting at Desert Plaza '. A few weeks later another gunman killed four people - three civilians working at nearby Petco Park & an off-duty police officer - inside their car dealership parked on Harbor Boulevard near where today's Convention Center stands . This attack is now know as ' shooting at Harbor Boulevard '. All occupants survived except for one hostage who was shot dead by gunman . The population was 14,763 at the 2010 census. The first European to visit what is now Redondo Beach was Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo on October 20, 1542. He named it Isla de la Juventud because "it seemed like a beautiful island." The name has been used ever since by sailors and beach goers looking for an easy place to put down their clothes and take a leak. On December 8, 1871, Commodore John D. Stockton founded the town of Redondo Beach on land that he acquired from Easton Reed at Rancho Buena Park in Hermosa Beach County. In 1886, when the state of California became a state, Redondo Beach became part of Los Angeles County with its own sheriff and court system. In 1915 Japanese American citizens living in Gardena successfully petitioned the United States government to be given an extraterritorial status as aliens not subject to U.S.-imposed laws governing citizens of other countries (the so-called internment orders). This Petition for Alien Land Ownership argued that because they had resided continuously in Angeleno soil for more than five years before presentation to authorities—long enough for naturalization or full citizenship under local law—they should be considered Californians within the meaning of Title 8 USC § 1103(a), which granted them certain civil rights including “the right to vote” without paying taxes or providing proof of residence elsewhere during that period (i.e., prior to 1910). Redondo Beach is a city in Southern California, United States. The population was 54,236 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Pacific Coast and bordered by Newport Beach to the east, Hermosa Beach to the north, Redondo Beach proper to the west and Playa Del Rey to the south. The City of Redondo Beach emerged from Rancho San Marcos land grant in 1885. The original town site lay just offshore from today's downtown area and was first known as "Beachwood." In 1905, red sandstone cliffs overlooking both beaches were donated by millionaire developer John D. Rockefeller for use as part of what would become Redondo Beach. By 1911, many small businesses had been built along Signal Hill Drive between State Street and High Street; this area became known as "The Cliff District." One of their most prominent residents during this time was banker Edward J. Smith who also served as Mayor from 1912-1915 and 1919-1921. In 1922, Hollywood producer David O Selznick purchased 5 acres (20 hectares) on Signal Hill Drive within half a mile (0.6 km) of red sandstone cliffs which he used for his new movie studios: Selznick Studio Productions Incorporated was born! With more than 100 employees working there at its peak in 1926-27, it produced some of Hollywood's most famous films such as "The Jazz Singer," "The Three Musketeers," and "Boys Town." As well as feature film production throughout Southern California through much of the 1930s, Elia Kazan oversawselznick's seminal work on "A Star is Born" (1937), becoming one of only a few filmmakers ever to have his own personal studio with complete control over every aspect of production - including cast selection and shooting locations! During World War II much activity stopped while Los Angeles experienced intense bombing raids; however when war resumed in 1945 all nonmilitary industry went into full gear with factories producing munitions such as tanks and planes; after that Point Loma Naval Air Station became home toathermals like B-29 Superfortresses used against Japan since 1942! This ended abruptly when Japan surrendered in August 1945 – local Boeing plant ceased operations just two weeks later! American soldiers had helped clean up Point Loma aftermath following airstrikes so no ships were sunk but shipyards had already closed down leaving little left over for military aircraft maintenance - imagine if Pearl Harbor had been bombed instead!? Today remnants can still be seen lying around off Airport Boulevard where bombers might fly past en route back home during those days! Redondo Beach quickly recovered post-war with a variety of businesses revived including printing companies such as Hearst Publications (now Hearst Tower Publishing) and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishers which moved into former Sears stores vacated byanta Company Toy Stores Incorporated early in 1951; then department store Macy’s opened its doors May 15th 1951 followed by Woolworth’s May 25th opening followed by Safeway July 6th 1951!!! At this point development slowed until 1978 when an interlocking series of mall projects developed called “the necklace” starting with Fashion Island Mall…all leading up eventually culminating in Regency Park Shopping Center now anchored by Macy’s., finally bringing shopping back inside city limits without taking away any street or commerce!! Redondo beach truly blossomed again beginning in earnest !!
