Over time other public schools have been built or replaced within the city limits; however, none currently serve as the primary school for students in Reedley City School District #1A The economy of Reedley is primarily based on agriculture; although there are some light industrial employers such as Aptech Inc., GlobalSignal Solutions Inc., and Omnitracorp which also have employees living within city limits but outside of grocery shopping areas or professional service areas such as law firms or accounting firms In recent years there has been significant progress being made towards becoming more urbanized with development occurring near Interstate 5 Regional Road 19 west of town centre There are also numerous housing developments being developed within walking distance of downtown including complexes such as Park Place & Midtown In September 2018 Mayor Joe Welch announced plans for a new downtown park called “Frosty Hollow” which will include an ice rink, fitness center, playground and event space . This project will cost $27 million dollars and should be completed by 2021
