The Coast Guard has been providing service to the people of Rialto for over 100 years. The first Coast Guard station in the area was built on present day York Street in 1892. The Coast Guard Station, which is now known as Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, served as a police force for the town until 1912. In 1916, the Coast Guard acquired its own vessel, the "SS Orion", which became a primary means of patrolling California's waters. In 1951, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron relocated to their current location on York Street. The current headquarters building was completed in 1966 and houses both Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron as well as other auxiliary units. Since its establishment, the Coast Guard has played an important role in keeping our state's coastline safe from harm. Today, there are over 2200 members of the Coast Guard stationed throughout California - including four boats that make up “The Golden Gate Fleet” – making us one of America’s most powerful maritime forces1 . It is through this history that we can better appreciate how essential it is for our coast guard community to work together to keep our region safe from potential danger. We are grateful for all that the Coast Guard does to help protect our communities and friends along Californias' coastlines!

The Coast Guard Auxiliary of Rialto, California was founded on December 12, 1923. The first members were chartered by the Mayor of Rialto and Supervisor of Police Harry Pfeiffer. The Auxiliary became a nonprofit organization with a membership open to all individuals who wished to volunteer their time andtalent for the protection of our coastline.
Rialto, California is a small town located in the San Joaquin Valley of Northern California. The name comes from the Italian word "rial" meaning bridge or road. The community was first settled in 1851 by families of German descent and began to grow rapidly after the completion of the Butterfield Overland Mail route between Sacramento and Sacramento in 1854. By 1860, Rialto had become an important transportation center with its own railroad station, which remains today as a historical landmark. Today, Rialto is known for its art scene, with many galleries and museums located within walking distance of the town's downtown district. It has also been home to several notable actors and actresses including Mary Tyler Moore,irlen Dungey,and Shirley MacLaine.

Along with the military, the Coast Guard played an important role in keeping our nation's coastline and waterways safe. The first coast guard gift was a set of binoculars, donated by Captain John Smith to help in his exploration of the new world. In 1903, the Coast Guard established their own museum which still remains open today. Throughout the years, gifts from citizens have helped improve coastal security and protect our coastline against criminals and smugglers. One of the most famous gifts from citizens was when Al Capone gave toilet paper to aid in law enforcement efforts on Long Island during the 1920s. Today, the Coast Guard plays an even more important role than ever before as they work tirelessly to keep our country's coasts and waterways safe from danger both big and small. They rely on donations from individuals and organizations alike to keep their museum open full time, fund research projects, purchase equipment needed for their missions such as search-and-rescue helicopters, or donate funds for new initiatives such as Hurricane Sandy relief. Rialto is located in Northern California, on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Bay Area. The city was founded in 1847 by speculators who named it after its then-new harbor, Rialto Creek. It grew rapidly during the late 1800s and reached a peak of population of over 100,000 in 1925. However, following World War II, Rialto declined as a result of competition from nearby Palo Alto and Burlingame. In recent decades, however, the city has regained someusterity and Has been touted as a model for revitalization efforts throughout Silicon Valley. The history of Rialto starts with its namesake creek. Rialto Creek was first mentioned in 1776 when Spanish explorers discovered it while exploring what is now Northern California. The name stuck and the creek became one of the most important water sources for early settlers in this part of California. By 1847, when Rialto Creek was incorporated into town Limits (later called City), it had achieved a population of around 20 people. During the late 1800s, there were several significant events that led to growth within Rialto: 1) The opening of San Francisco Bay Bridge connecting Alameda County with Marin County created new opportunities for businesses within town limits; 2) The construction of Yosemite National Park caused an influx of tourists; 3) A series Of droughts struck Southern California during the late 1800s which lead to increased demand for goods produced near Los Angeles; 4) A railroad arrived in town limits in 1870 which led to more industry development; 5) After Prohibition ended in 1933, downtown business began to revive thanks to new drinking establishments and nightlife options; 6) After World War II ended and many veterans returned home, downtown businesses revived again due to increased wartime trade; 7) Today’s resurgence can be traced back to numerous initiatives spearheaded by Mayor Ed Lee including plans for a light rail system and redevelopment projects such as Plaza de la Cultura which are intended to create permanent jobs or promote cultural experiences within town limits
The City of Rialto was founded in 1852 by a group of entrepreneurs, including George Goodwin and Nicholas Roerich, who were looking for a new site to build a flour mill. The city grew quickly, becoming one of the most important commercial and industrial centers in the region. In 1906, Rialto became part of the newly created County of San Bernardino and continued to grow. In 1932, it was merged with the neighboring city of Big Bear Lake into a single municipality.
