Some notable names include Koffee Klatch (founded in 1997), The Roasterie (established in 2001), and Blue Bottle Coffee (founded in 2009). Rialto is a town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 11,354 at the 2010 census. It is located on the right bank of the Arroyo Seco River and north of downtown Los Angeles. Rialto was founded by American Revolutionary War soldier John Sutter in 1797 as a small station on the mission trail between Mission Dolores and Mira Mesa. On July 15, 1815, when Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna attacked Rialto after crossing the river from Sonora into California with an army to retake Verdugo Hills from Anglo-American forces under Ulysses S. Grant, local farmers repelled his attack with gunfire and wagons full of goods that they had collected for their missions across the river. In 1824, father-in-law Manuel Nieto donated 1400 acres (5 km2) of land to make up what is now Rialto Township. The first post office was established in 1839; it name was changed to Rialto in 1851 because it lay along both banks of the Arroyo Seco River. The railroad reached Rialtoland late in 1865 and made it easy for people to get around town; therefore, business began to increase rapidly at the blacksmiths' shop and other civic amenities that were built near its edge until outgrowing them by 1920. From then until 1985 there were two schools within walking distance of each other: one operated byUSD public school District #1 (now part of Fullerton Unified School District), while another ran as a private charter school operated by Friends Schools USA before that district closed down in 2002; all three schools share an athletic complex known as "The Park", which contains a football stadium/athletic fields, tennis courts/training facilities (including a water slide), gymnasiums/gym classes wings housing classrooms and science labs/, plus multifunctional meeting rooms used for dances and other events outdoors since1978 In 1907 James Irvine started construction on what would become called "The Irvine Company's" largest development yet - an 825 acre (345-hectare) citrus orchards operation named "Ralston". This integrated farming enterprise became one of Southern California's most successful agricultural ventures during World War I due largely to its innovation in cold storage methods including large vats filled with water maintained below 40 degrees F (−10 degrees C). For more than 50 years thereafter citrus production continued unabated despite various changes in technology – culminating with Citrus Heights’ conversion from citrus ranches into high tech nurseries last year – but marketing efforts directed towards inland markets have resulted only modestly in increased sales throughout most recent decades."
