Rocklin, California is a small town in the Kern County region of Southern California. The population was 7,545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Joaquin Valley metropolitan area. The name "Rocklin" comes from the Spanish word "rock," meaning boulder or stone. Rocklins first appeared on maps in 1853 when Jens Jensen named a creek after him and his family. The first post office opened in 1865, and by 1870 there were four families living here: Jensen, Hiscox, Woodson and Potter. In 1875 Thornton Waddell came to Rocklin as an agent for the Central Pacific Railroad and began buying lots here for $50 each. He built two churches here – one dedicated to St John Baptist and one dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe – before he died in 1911. The other early settlers were: Herschel Purdy (1849-1925), future Mayor of Fresno; James Boice (1860-1924), who started a grocery store; Augustus Hoehn (1861-1937), forester; Frank Chapman (1862-1945), pharmacist; Julius Weiser (1865-1966) who ran a lumberyard; Harry Sutter (1867-1946) who started a farm that produced hay and vegetables until he sold it to Roy Barnes in 1948; Anna Gunnarson (born 1863) became social worker for local schools before she married Dr Jesse Gunnarson in 1905. ROCKLIN was incorporated as a village on November 3rd, 1907 by vowing “to work together for the common good” with twelve others similar settlements located around it across Kern County during that time period known as “the Villages Project” because they had all agreed to become self supporting with collective powers necessary to achieve this goal including mutual aid organizations such as fire departments, police forces etc., water systems, roads etc…. Today only three originalVillages remain scattered throughout southern Kern County: Big Bear Village which lies within Butte National Forest east of downtown ; North Park which lies within Contra Costa County north of Pittsburg ; while South Park is currently located inside Menifee National Forest outside unincorporated Modoc County Today's economy is primarily based on agriculture with some manufacturing industries based upon textiles products such as clothing exports from nearby Tehachapi Valley towns like Dixonville or Carlsbad now also home to major companies like Ford or Chevron but also many small businesses dotting every nook and cranny supplying everything from medical supplies to single malt scotch whisky

Rocklin is a small town in Imperial County, California, United States. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area.
The first permanent settler in what would become Rocklin was George Pacheco in 1853. He platted and named his land Rancho San Diego de la Cruz y Costilla which became the nucleus of present day Rocklin. A post office called Rancho San Diego de la Cruz y Costilla was established in 1857, and remained in operation until 1907. In 1859, Juan Bautista Alvarado purchased 640 acres (248 hectares) of Rancho La Brea from Manuel Nieto for $10 per acre ($266). This land later became known as Rancho Alvarado/Rancho La Mesa due to its proximity to both Rocklin and La Mesa.
Alvarado built aadobe ranch house on this property which served as his residence until 1886 when he sold it to Thomas Manton who moved there from Sacramento. Manton renamed it "Manton House" after himself and added an adobe wing to the original structure in 1893-1894%. After years of living there with his family, Manton donated his home and 2 other adobe wings to the town of Rocklin in 1923 as part of its centennial celebration In 1928, following World War II veteran integration into American society, many veterans returned home and started businesses such as The Chrysler Corporation's Dearborn Plant No. 2 which employed over 100 locals during the war period while also vandalizing local businesses; this led to rocklining' nickname "The City That Vandalized Its Own". His widow continued running that business until her death before it passed along to her son David Sanger who continued operating it until he too died childless in 2006 aged 76 years old. From 1936-1964 Rocklin had one mayor under three different terms: Harry Chandler (1936-1944), Earl Jorgensen (1945-1958), Leroy Swecker (1959-1966).etta figure from 1975 onward is Jane Wortham who served continuously through 1977 when she succeeded her husband Herb Wortham Jr., previously serving concurrently as city attorney prior thereto without interruption for 21 years. With all these changes coming about during those intervening decades not only did Rocklin progress but so did its citizens; by 1984 it boasted two high schools - Eastern Senior High School (now defunct) and Western Junior High School - plus three churches - First Baptist Church( now Missionaries Of Charity ), Second Presbyterian Church( now Our Lady Of Fatima ), and Third Methodist EpiscopalChurch. Rocklin was founded in 1851 by brothers Elias and John Rocklin. The town got its start as a small farming community, located on the banks of the Sacramento River. In 1864, when California became a state, Rocklin was incorporated as a city. By 1870, the population had grown to over 1,000 people and Rocklin became one of the most important cities in California. After years of growth and progress, however, the Panic of 1873 caused a series of economic setbacks for Rocklin. This led to some social unrest and popular protests against what they saw as corruption in local government. As a result of these problems, rocklins fortunes began to decline beginning in the late 1800s. However, since it had been founded on agriculture and trade rather than development or luxury industries like San Francisco or Los Angeles during this time period, rocklins general atmosphere remained positive throughout its difficult times.
