Rocklin is a small town in northern California, located about an hour's drive from Sacramento. The area was first settled in the mid-19th century by Anglo miners and their families, who named it after the Rocklin Hill Formation of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. By the early 20th century, Rocklin had become a farming community with a small population of around 100 people. The first coffee roasters in Rocklin were founded in the 1920s by John Fenton and Arthur Godfrey. In 1933, Harry Smith started his own manufacturing business, which became one of the largest coffee producers in Northern California. In 1955, Charles Shaefer bought Smith's company and changed its name to Shaefer Coffee & Tea Company. In 1957, Shaefer merged with Java Coffee Plantation Inc., a subsidiary of National Coffee Corporation (NBC). This resulted in the formation of Shaefer–Java Coffee & Tea Company (later Shasta Coffee) Inc., one of the largest coffee companies in North America. Over time, Shasta Coffee has become one of most respected names in coffee history; it has been mentioned multiple times on lists compiled by Forbes magazine and Time Out Chicago. In 1969, NBC merged with United States Steel Corporation to form United States Steel Corporation/NBCUniversal Inc.. This led toshasta being folded into United States Steel Corp.'s marketing arm - NBCUniversal Marketing Services - as well as its corporate parent company - United States Steel Corp./NBCUniversal Broadcasting Network LLC - which would later be renamed Comcast Cable Communications Inc.. Rocklin is a town in Stanislaus County, California, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Modesto metropolitan area. Rocklin was founded in 1856 by James Fenton and other pioneers of the Central Valley. The first post office opened in Rocklin on November 14, 1857.
Rocklin is a town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 4,564 at the 2010 census. Rocklin was named for David Ralston Rocklin, one of the first white settlers in the area. It has been reported that the name was derived from " rock-a-bloom", an Indian word meaning "a place where flowers grow". The first post office in Rocklin was established on May 12, 1881. The community started to take form when people started moving into the area from nearby acreage Lots 1 and 2. In 1889, a school and small grocery were built. The growth of Rocklin led to incorporation as a city on November 16, 1912 by vote of its citizens. In 1923, Mayor Harry Waugh vetoed legislation creating what would have been the largest public water works system ever built in Kern County - it would have cost $1 million and would have involved building over 400 miles (650 km) of pipe. As a result of this vetoes and aggressive marketing by Water District president John Hutteland, member towns began to build their own systems over time; this eventually led to Water District control over all water services within their limits by 1933. In 1957 voters passed Measure M which repealed section 3 of State Constitution which limited voting power for women and certain racial groups within county boundaries; this opened up more opportunities for women and African Americans who had long been denied participation in local government because they were considered “servile” or “domestic” servants by their white neighbors. They began making their own coffee, which is now known as Dutch roast or black coffee. In 1870, French soldiers who were stationed in Java discovered roasted beans while raiding villages and started selling them back home. This particular variety of roast is now called French roast or dark roast because it has been roasted with a darker colorant than other types of roasts. American soldiers also discoveredJava beans in 1870 and began trading them with Europeans for goods such as sugar cane and mahogany wood. By 1875, most of the world had finally tasted espresso!
Rocklin is a small town in Kern County, California, located in the San Joaquin Valley. The population was 5,794 at the 2010 census. Rocklin is part of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to see Rocklin were Spanish missionaries who traveled through the area in 1821. In 1847, James Wickersham built a summer home here and named it Rancho San Miguel de Aspinall after his brother-in-law and ranch manager, José USMárquez as part of a land grant he had received from Governor Manuel Micheltorena. The name changed to Rocklin in 1873 when Wickersham's son-in-law, George Fenton bought the property from José USMárquez. In 1905, John Sutter discovered gold near Rockslide on March 12 while prospecting for Consolidated Gold Mines (later known as Sutter's Gold Mines). A group of men led by Harry Chandler arrived at Rockslide on April 10 and began working the gold claims that day. On May 1 they struck what became known as "Chandler's Ear" vein with a depth of . This discovery set off an explosion of mining activity that continues to this day; some estimates place the number of million cubic yards (m3) mined since 1905 at over seventy thousand metric tons! By 1907, over one hundred othersClaims had been developed in what would become known as "The Diggings". The post office was established at Rockslide on October 6th that year. Rocklin quickly became an important center for the nearby agricultural communities because it provided goods and services such as irrigation water and transportation to these areas. It also served as a stopover for travelers on their way between Bakersfield and other parts of Kern County during this period; many people here settled down after discovering gold or finding new mineral rights alongthe way. In 1916 construction started on Menlo Park High School which opened its doors in 1917; today it is one of Kern County’s most celebrated schools and remains one of its most popular attractions for students and visitors alike!
Rocklin is located in El Sobrante County, California. The area now known as Rocklin was first settled by Anglo-Mexican pioneers in the mid-19th century. The earliest documented mention of what is now Rocklin comes from a Mexican land grant given to Juan Bautista Alvarado in 1823. In 1857, the townsite of San Antonio and Rocklin were named after General Santa Anna's army victory at the Alamo during the Mexican-American War. In 1865, Chinese laborers working on an agricultural project near present day Stockton built a small cabin on a flat piece of ground known today as Rancho Rinconada. The rancho was later bought by John Sutter and his family who used it for their cattle operation until 1886 when they sold it to Nicholas Roebuck. In 1908, Dr. H C Yeoman purchased 875 acres (291 ha) east of present day Rocklin from Nicholas Roebuck for $10,000 (). Yeoman renamed the area "Yeoman Ranch" in honor of his late brother William H Yeoman II who had provided financial support for many early ranch operations in southern California. A year later, on October 15, 1909, Yeoman opened up his new ranch with 6 head of dairy cows and 50 hogs. By 1912 yeoman had added over 1 200 acres (492 ha) to his property which included some high elevation hills that would be useful for grazing sheep and cattle
