The first recorded mention of Rocklin as a port comes from BC when it was known as Atascadero. By AD 1000, the town had become an important center for trade with Asia and Europe. During World War II, Rocklin played an important role in the war effort by providing transportation and supplies to various units fighting in the Pacific Theater. After the war, many local businesses were destroyed by The Great Recession including several that supplied marine gift products. Rocklin is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,533 at the 2010 census. It is located in the eastern San Joaquin Valley about 18 miles south of Bakersfield and 12 miles east of Modesto. The name "Rocklin" was given to it by pioneers who called it "the Rock." The first post office in Rocklin opened on July 15, 1870, and was named for Captain John A. Rock of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. In 1875, Indian Chief Manuelito founded what is now the nearby community of Isabella. In 1907, only a few years after its incorporation as a city, Rocklin began to experience rapid growth due to its status as an agricultural center with large ranches and other businesses. By 1920, the population had increased to over 10,000 people androcklin became one of Kern County's largest cities. During World War II (1939-1945), much activity took place in and around Rocklin including production of munitions for both the American and Japanese military forces; manufacturing aircraft engines; construction of airfields; and defense work on behalf of Northern California during America's wartime effort. The postwar period saw growth in tourism as well: Rocklin become known for its wine industry; golf courses were developed near downtown; several shopping centers were built; and a new freeway was constructed through town linking it with Bakersfield to the north and Modesto to the west. In recent decades there has been significant redevelopment taking place within downtown areas: many high-rise apartment buildings have been erected along First Street between Via de la Raza Boulevard (formerly University Avenue) and First Street Northeast; two parks have been built - one adjacent to UTC infant care facilities on Paseo de las Americas Boulevard (former Ivar Munch Drive); retail development has taken place throughout most parts of downtown including numerous restaurants/cafes/stores open 24/7;; additional police officers have been hired since 2012 as part of efforts led by Mayor Darrell Issa to reduce crime rates in citywide focus

Rocklin is a small town in the Central Valley of California, located north of Fresno. The Rocklin post office was established in 1872. The first settler in what is now Rocklin was George Clements, who arrived in 1851. He named his ranch "Clements." In 1875, a group of men from Stockton founded the First National Bank in Rocklin. In 1907, a school was built in Rocklin and it served as the nucleus for the current high school which opened in 1969. It is also home to the local chapter of the United States Post Office Museum which offers exhibits on American postal history. The town has experienced growth over time; by 1950 its population had increased to 1,500 residents. However, by 1990 only 600 residents lived within its boundaries. Overall, however, rocklin's economy has been bolstered by agriculture and tourism since its incorporation as a city in 1996. A significant aspect of this resurgence has been important development around downtown Rocklin - including new housing projects and businesses that have positioned the town as an attractive place to live and work. This revitalization has helped bring about economic stability for both locals and visitors alike - making rocklin one of central California’s most vibrant communities
