In the early 1900s, Marines were stationed in Rocklin, California as part of the Marine Corps. In 1992 marines arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam-Hickam after serving since 1959 at Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay Hawaii; this was only one small step towards making them a fullfledged member of US Military Forces worldwide by 1994

Rocklin, California was founded in 1851 by James C. Rocklin and his wife Emma. The town was originally named "Fresno" after the Mission San Francisco de Asís, which was located in what is now Fresno County. In 1881, Rocklin became a city and was renamed to "Rocklin." The city's first mayor was Fenton D. Reeves. In 1912, the Rocklin Lumber Company merged with the Pacific Lumber Company to form the Pacific Steel and Wire Corporation. The company operated a sawmill until it closed in 1969. In 1921, Rocksville Elementary School opened in downtown Rocklin and continues to be used today as a schoolhouse/library complex known as the Masonic Temple-Rocksville Historic District.
In 1847, the California Gold Rush began and soon led to a population explosion in Rocklin. As mines were discovered throughout the state, many people came to Rocklin looking for gold. The town was founded on April 10, 1848 by men named James Irvine and George Mills. It initially consisted of just a few buildings around the corner from where it now stands. In 1850,Rocklin became an incorporated town with a Post office and three stores. A year later, it had 10 residents and two businesses. By 1852, Rockslin had grown so large that they built their first school in the area now known as Old Town. In 1860, Rocklin annexed part of nearby Humboldt County and its growth continued into the 20th century. In 1924, when Highway 395 was created as part of routes 1 through California and Nevada, RocksLINoxidized because it lay at one of the most important intersections in both states - Interstate 5 crossing over US 101 near Humboldt County Airport (the current site of Redding). This left Rocklin with an opportunity for development beyond its original boundaries- which included much upscale housing today including several high-rise buildings on Alameda Street (now known as Eastshore Drive) directly across from I-5/US 101 junction
