There is a long history of the National Guard in Rohnert Park, California. The first National Guard unit was organized in 1887 and served in the California Gold Rush. In 1916, theNational Guard was redesignated as the Army National Guard and served until 1947. From 1947 to 1966, the National Guard was again redesignated as the Marines Corps Reserve. In 1966, the Marine Corps Reserve became part of the Coast Guard and has been serving in that capacity ever since. The Coast Guardsmen from Rohnert Park have played an important role in our community for many years. They have helped protect our coastline and provide law enforcement services on local beaches. They also play an important role in coastal defense patrols and can be seen manning several Coast Guard stations throughout our area. Today, there are over 4500 members of the Coast Guardsmen from Rohnert Park who serve their country with distinction. These men and women are dedicated to providing quality service to all those they interact with every day- whether it’s helping us keep our coast safe or playing host to events like Memorial Day Parties or Fourth of July fireworks shows!
The National Guard is a volunteer militia organization which is associated with the United States of America. The National Guard was first activated on September 16, 1792 as a part of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The Militia Act of 1810 made the National Guard an arm of the military and its members were exempted from paying taxes. The Militia Act also prohibited national guard troops from serving in any peacekeeping or other military engagements outside their own country without prior consent from Congress. On May 6, 1861, President Abraham Lincoln signed into law the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution which states that “the right of citizens of the United States to keep and bear arms shall not be violated; but no person holding any office or trust under this Government may engage in political rebellion against it” (Foley). On June 14, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law Public Law 97-236 which amended title 10 USC §711(a) to provide for state militia organizations within each state and for county militias within certain counties (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa), as well as tribal militias within certain nations (Alaska Native Brotherhood of Alaska State Troopers; Cherokee NationNational Guardsmen); and authorized establishment by Congress of Air National Guard units consisting exclusively of pilots (Air Force Reserve Command). Since its activation in 1935, more than one hundred thousand men and women have served in the National Guard throughout our history. Today there are over 260allion active duty members across all 50 US states plus Puerto Rico and Guam. There are also over 150 reserve component members affiliated with state militaries located around America providing coverage should required (National Defense University Press Release). Everyday individuals put their lives on hold when called up for service in times of crisis such as hurricanes Irma or Harvey or natural disasters such as earthquakes or wildfires. For example: In 2018 alone there were more than 2200 active duty deployment orders issued statewide including 5100 commando assaults inside U.S., 350 deployments to international missions worldwide & 350 deployments to support local police forces just in Texas! And we continue every day with Soldiers Deploying To Support Special Operations Missions Worldwide
The Rohnert Park National Guard was organized in 1918 and has served continuously since then. The unit is composed of soldiers from the California Army National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserve.
Rohnert Park is a small city in Sonoma County, California, located on the north coast of the San Francisco Peninsula. The population was 12,451 at the 2010 census. It is part of the East Bay Area and has a Mediterranean climate. The first European to sight Rohnert Park was Gaspar de Portolà in 1769 when he explored what is now Sonoma County. In 1836, American soldiers burned down the presbytery at Petaluma for being Un-American; this event is commemorated by a statue of an American flagpole in front of Union Station near Petaluma. A year later, President Franklin D. Roosevelt visited Rohnert Park and proposed building a new federal courthouse in town which would become known as the "Rohnert Park Courthouse". This project failed to receive funding until 1942 when Congress passed legislation entitled "United States Army Corps of Engineers Act" which authorized $2 million to be spent on improving waterway navigation around Point Reyes National Seashore and making other necessary repairs and improvements thereto. In 1923, Drury Lane Theatre opened its doors as one of only two downtown theaters still extant in California after years of being shuttered or converted into warehouses. The theater continued playing even during World War II because it had been protected under United States Code Section 501(a) as an "inter national cultural property." After many years of operation by various nonprofit groups including Regent's Olde School Players (now called Sammamish Playhouse), it finally closed its doors for good in 1978 and became a state-owned park with limited operating hours until 1984 when it reopened permanently as Rohnert Park State Beach with free parking available all day long from Memorial Day through Labor Day inclusive! Today, Rohnert Park features more than 350 businesses including 11 food trucks that serve up fresh made food nightly from local farms while also featuring several dozen concerts each year throughout summer months typically headlined by world class artists such as Aretha Franklin & Whitney Houston both live appearances here last year before headlining larger venues like Golden Gate Bridge etc., there are also numerous events taking place within city limits annually such as flower shows/markets/golf tournaments/fairs etc.; these are typically open to the public so please check their website for details
The National Guard has a rich history dating back to 1792. At that time, the United States had only a small number of military troops and was instead dependent upon the militia. The first national guard unit was created in 1792 as part of the Continental Army. However, this unit was quickly disbanded and did not have any effective role in the American Revolution. In 1795, Congress passed an act authorizing the organization of militias throughout the colonies. This act made it possible for colonists to form their own militias if they so desired and allowed these militias to help protect their homes and property from British attack. In addition, this law gave rise to the idea of using national guard units for purposes other than defense or peacekeeping. For example, some colonial legislatures even authorized state militia groups to fight against Native Americans in various wars during this time period. The creation of national guard units began to grow in importance following America's victory over Great Britain in 1st World War (1914-18). At this point, many people were beginning to fear that Germany might again attempt aggression against America. As a result, Congress decided that it would be better if all American citizens were trained and equipped with firearms in case of an emergency within our country. Accordingly, on July 15th, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed into law the National Defense Act which provided for the establishment of two corps each composed entirely of armed men aged 18-30 years who could be called into federal service at any time for up to 12 months without specific prior notice or explanation from their commanders

Rohnert Park is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. It was founded by John H. Rohnert in 1848 and named after his father, Robert Rohnert. The first store in Rohnert Park was opened in 1851 and the first post office was established in 1852. The first school in the town was opened in 1861 and the first courthouse was built in 1865. In 1870, a railroad line arrived to Rohnert Park and it became a part of Southern California. In 1916, the name of the town changed to Berkeley Heights due to local support for Berkeley, California as opposed to San Francisco which had been chosen as the new city limits. The population of Rohnert Park decreased between 1940 and 1960 but it has since began growing again with its annexation by Berkeley Heights. Today, Rohnert Park is one of the most popular towns in central California with its wide variety of cultural experiences including music, art, wine-tasting, hiking/climbing, restaurants, shopping and more!
Rohnert Park was founded in 1887 by George Rohnert and his wife, Emma. The original land for the park was donated by James Irvine. In 1912, the city of Berkeley bought part of the park from Rohnert Park's founders for $1,000. The city renovated and enlarged the park in 1915-16 when it became a public playground open to the general public. In 1928, Rohnert Park was annexed into Berkeley. In 1932, the City of Berkeley passed an ordinance authorizing construction of a new water tower on top of hills near Telegraph Hill that would become known as Golden Gate Park. On April 20, 1933, Mayor Richardson Woodall dedicated Golden Gate Park with a dinner honoring then Vice President Franklin D. Roosevelt at which he said "This is not only our finest national forest but also one of our most beautiful pieces of municipal real estate." In 1937-38, during World War II munitions workers were housed in tents at nearby Pacheco Dam while they were production-line tested at Benicia Naval Air Station. During this time much of what is now Orinda Boulevard (between Alma Street and San Pablo Avenue) was developed as part of Admiral Nimitz Drive between Marin Boulevard and Academy Road
