After the end of combat operations Rosesamead again sent Marines into action when insurgents attacked two gas stations near town on December 15th 1975 . With no other way out open then through physical force; Marines descended upon the buildings engaging whatever defenders they could find inside while others pounded away from atop Gassing Towers using live rounds only causing minimal damage until assistance arrived minutes later……..This event is still known as “The Massacre”

Rosemead is an unincorporated community located in Santa Clara County, California. The community was founded in 1887 by pioneers who formed the Rosemead Mutual Benefit Society. The society helped to build a railroad station and other infrastructure in the area. The society disbanded in 1912 but its legacy lives on today as the Rosemead Historical Society. The town of Rosemead was founded on December 14, 1887 by John Brougham and his wife Anna Maria Pemberton, two of the early settlers of Santa Clara County. They named their new town after their home village of Rosiereed, England. It is said that Anna Maria's parents were unhappy with her decision to move away from their home country and name their new settlement after a place they had never seen before. Nonetheless, it is clear that the Broughams wanted to create a local community where they could be themselves and raise their family without feeling too much pressure from outside forces. The first dwellings were built near what is now the railway station which opened in 1888. By 1895, there were over 100 people living in Rose mead including many farmers and lumbermen who came to purchase land for development purposes. Over time, more businesses cropped up such as a grocery store and post office which opened in 1893 along with a schoolhouse which served grades 1-8 until 1906 when it was replaced by an larger building designed by architect George Hildebrandt Walthall Jr.. In 1907-1908, construction began on what would become one of Santa Clara County’s largest shopping malls when developer Edwin Crouch purchased several blocks of land north of Rosiereed Street for $3 million dollars . In 1912, due to budget cuts at Santa Clara County government all programs associated with the Rosemead Mutual Benefit Society (RMBS) were discontinued effective January 1st following objections from some members about being forced into bankruptcy . However, its legacy lives on today as the Rosemead Historical Society whose collections include items dating back to 1897 including pioneer newspapers still stored inside old RR tracks locomotives!
