He also distributed Italian wines and olive oils throughout Northern California. In 1868, Angelo Rozzi opened his own espresso house on First Street in Sacramento. Rozzi is credited with being the first person to create French press coffee beans which he then roasted and served at his business premises. In 1869, Charles Fenton opened The Grapes restaurant on Fourth Street which became one of Sacramento's most popular commercial landmarks during this time period. By 1870, there were over 50 cafes operating within close proximity to each other in downtownSacramento. These cafes offered a wide variety of refreshment items such as pastries, cocoa products, eggs Benedict etc., along with espresso drinks that were concocted by local baristas who specialized in different types of coffee beans or roasts according to their individual taste preferences.

He started selling ground coffee from a small shop near King’s Cross Station. 2. In 1912, Alfred Peet began serving high-quality Arabica beans at his flagship store in New York City. It wasn’t until the early 1990s that Starbucks began making its own gourmet coffeebeans (although they still sell those same beans to other stores). 3. Carlos Santana popularized Gourmet Coffee when he introduced it as part of his Santana Series of records in 1993. That year, he also opened the first Gourmet Coffee House in Mexico City – this was followed by several others throughout Latin America over the next few years. 4. Davidoff brand gourmet coffee became available for purchase starting in 1984 through independent retailers such as Sam Adams Brewery and Flying Dutchman Beer Company (now Anheuser-Busch InBev). This variety was called Davidoff Specialty Coffee and had higher quality beans than any other type of regular Joe’s or White Castle Brewed Coffee (which were then considered lower quality). 5. After the Civil War ended in 1865, white northerners moved into California while black Americans moved into states south of the border. In 1872, Governor George Evans signed legislation that allowed Californians to become citizens without having to go through a process of Ulysses S. Grant administration-sponsored racial quotas or residency requirements
