San Anselmo, California is a city in Marin County, California. The population was 64,354 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the eastern coast of San Francisco Bay and is adjacent to Mill Valley and Sausalito. The first Europeans to Visit San Anselmo were Spanish voyageurs who landed there in 1769. The area that would become San Anselmo was part of Rancho Santa Cruz de la Laguna until it became part of Marin County in 1853. In 1875, William Hammond donated 1/3 of all he owned in Marin County to create a public park in honor of his friend and fellow Californian General James K. Polk Sr., who had died just a year earlier at the age of 82 years old. The first park contained only an elementary school and a small playground; but soon enough, others began to donate land for parks throughout the county including San Anselmano Park which opened its doors to the public on November 20th 1876. Today’s site includes an open-air museum displaying American Indian artifacts as well as four tennis courts, two baseball diamonds and three football fields which have been home to various sports teams over the years including the United States Marine Corps team from World War II through 1964 (the Marines still play games there today), as well as numerous other uses such as hosting civic events, weddings and funerals etcetera The 1906 earthquake killed more than $2 million worth of property value associated with businesses within Downtown San Anselmo limits alone - most notably Jardin Botánico - leaving much damage uncontrolled which has resulted in some redevelopment efforts over time In 1951, when Interstate 5 was built through central Marin County bypassing San Anselmano entirely, downtown business owners lobbied hard for I-5 access so they could continue selling goods off their properties while construction took place; this led eventually to downtown becoming one continuous shopping district known today as "Downtownsan". However due mostly to rezoning issues with new development coming up along I-580 (now Highway 24) between Downtownsan and Highway 19 (now called MacArthur Boulevard), most businesses have closed down or relocated since then Some notable buildings or landmarks located within or around Downtownsan include: Jack London Square (named after America's author and local benefactor), Grace Cathedral (1886), Missionary Trust Building (1912), State Fairgrounds(1925-1990s) - now occupied by Safeway supermarket chain - Kaiser Permanente building across from City Hall(1935-present) University House(1949-present) USMLE building across from Cathedral School(1960s-Present).

Hargrave served with Company K/5th Battalion 4th Marine Regiment at Jalalabad Airfield Afghanistan from November 2007 until February 2009 when hewas critically wounded during an attack on Forward Operating Base FOB Gahr ?4) A Canon EOS Rebel T6 Digital SLR Camera - This camera was gifted by Cpl., John Doe Jr., III., via email in December 2009? The city of San Anselmo, California was founded by the brothers Joseph and Benito Valle in 1849. The city rapidly grew thanks to its location near the Golden Gate Bridge and its access to natural resources. In 1876, San Anselmo became a part of the United States and in 1915 it became an incorporated town. Today, San Anselmo is a thriving community with a rich history that can be found throughout its neighborhoods and businesses. The city's first settler was José Joaquin de la Vega who arrived in 1777 from mission Santa Cruz de Tijuana, Mexico. He built what is now the Santiago Hotel on Second Street in downtown San Anselmoc. La Vega was joined by his brother Francisco Sarmiento in 1779 and together they founded Mission Santa Clara de Asís on Nob Hill. In 1794, after Mexican independence had been gained, the Spanish Crown grantedmission Santa Clara de Tijuana to José Joaquín Chávez Pacheco for his personal use only; however, Chávez Pacheco never visited the site. In 1847, Rancho Prelon was purchased from José Garza y García by Lorenzo Da Costa. The ranch included present-day San Anselmo as well as parts of Hercules Oaks and Rolling Hills Neighborhoods east of Highway 101 north of Interstate 280.Da Costa named his new rancho Las Animas (theAnimals) after one of his many daughters who died young at age 12 during childbirth at Goleta Dam while working for her father on adjoining Rancho Los Nietos (Netherlands Lands). The first permanent European settlement in San Anselmo was the Mission of San Francisco on December 17, 1821. The mission was founded by Father Junípero Serra and Brother José de Jesús Arguelles. The town was named for St. Anthony, patron saint of travelers and traders. In 1848, the state of California granted land to the Catholic church in order to build an ecclesiastical college as a way to help spread Christianity throughout California. On October 16, 1850, school opened with 156 students from 21 different counties in Northern California under the auspices of the Diocese of Monterey Bay. In 1860, Bishop John Leland succeeded Father Junípero Serra as pastor of San Francisco and began missionary work amongst the Native Americans living in this area. On July 4th 1861, during his visit to San Francisco, President James Buchanan signed into law that made San Pedro Island part of Alameda County instead of Oakland County. This move increased political power within Alameda County and caused tension between Catholics and Protestants who felt they had been lost in an event that could be seen as aitive victory for Catholicism over Protestantism. San Anselmo started to grow rapidly because jobs were available at Coast Guard stations nearby like Tiburon or Albany which aided in its growth; however there were also problems with crime and pollution from industries located near Point Conception Strait which negatively impacted local economy & lifestyle
