Maga coffee first started to be grown in San Bernardino, California in the early 1900s. The first maga coffee beans were harvested and roasted by Fernando Gomez in 1903. In 1934, Manuel Gomez founded the company that currently produces maga coffee. Maga coffee is a blend of two different types of beans – Sumatra and Java – which gives it its unique flavor profile.

First and foremost, maga coffee is made with a blend of ground beans that are roasted in a specific way. This unique combination gives the coffee its characteristic flavor and aroma. There are also several major businesses located within the city limits including Wells Fargo Bank and Lockheed Martin Corporation. As one of California’s most important metropolitan regions,San Bernardino continues to experience robust economic growth both domestically and internationally.
The history of maga coffee goes back to the early 1800s when traders and travelers started exploring the new world. One such traveler, José de la Calle, was met with a type of coffee that he had never seen before called "maga." This coffee was so different from any other coffee he had been drinking that he decided to bring it back home with him. After tasting this new coffee, José's friends and family were amazed by its flavor and began to enjoy it as well. Maga coffee soon spread throughout Europe and America. By the late 1800s, maga coffee had become one of the most popular types of Coffee in those regions. In 1910, an Italian company named Jura introduced a new way to roast maga beans which led to increased popularity for this type of Coffee. Maga Coffee continues to be popular today and can be found all over the world.
The Maga coffee beans are said to have originated in the town of Tecla, in central Argentina. At one point, they were grown on a small plantation that was confiscated by the Spanish government during the Argentine War of Independence. The beans were then smuggled out of Argentina and into neighbouring Brazil, before being brought over to Europe and finally America.
In 1849, the California Gold Rush began and soon after, San Bernardino became a thriving town. The site of present-day San Bernardino was chosen for its location at the mouth of the Santa Ana River, which made it a logical choice for an early gold mine. In 1850, construction started on what would become known as Old Fort San Bernardino and in 1851, the fort was completed. The first settlement in what is now San Bernardino County was established by Germans in 1853. A year later, they founded a small town called Thunberg on the east side of present-day Riverside County. By 1865, there were over 20 German families living in San Bernardino County. During World War II, many people from Southern California came to work in munitions plants in Northern California because of ample wartime resources. Many mills closed during the war and production ended within a few years; however, some continue operation to this day. One such mill is Calumet Paper Products which still operates today out of downtown Riverside. San Bernardino County saw heavy growth during the late 1800s due to its strategic location at one end of Orange County along Interstate 15 and its access to water supplies from reservoirs near Los Angeles and Anaheim Hills. Economic development also occurred through annexation of adjacent counties (Alpine County (1902), Riverside (1907)), annexation of other townships (Ontario Valley Township 1907), establishment of industrial districts (Cannon City District 1915), creation of new city limits (Lake Arrowhead 1911) and formation of special purpose districts including those focused on citrus production (Pomegranate District 1919).
In 1871, San Bernardino was founded by Father Gabriel Crespi as a small mission and garden town on the edge of what is now Riverside County. In 1881, it became the county seat of San Bernardino County. The city's growth was spurred by its location at the crossroads of several important trails, including the Angeles National Forest and Southern Pacific Railroad. The city also became known for its temperate climate (the average temperature in San Bernardino is about 33 degrees F), mild weather, and wide variety of cultural assets. The city's downtown area has been reconstructed several times since it was destroyed in a fire in 1906. A new downtown district will be built along San Bernardino River Boulevard between First Street and Central Avenue.
