The United States Air Force (USAF) has a rich history that dates back to World War I. The first military branch of the USAF was reactivated in 1917 as the Aeronautical Division, which evolved into the Military Air Service (MAAF) in 1918. On November 7, 1942, during World War II, General George C. Marshall activated the Strategic Bombing Survey (SBS), which became known as the Manhattan Project. This project resulted in creating and flying the atomic bomb and ultimately winning World War II for the US. The USAF is today one of America’s most important service branches and has a significant role to play in future conflicts. In San Bruno, California, portions of both World Wars were fought on its soil and within its borders. The city was founded by Americans who had served in both wars and brought their knowledge and experience to bear on postwar development. Since then, San Bruno has been an important center for airpower research and production - home to many major aerospace companies including Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT), Boeing Company (BA), Northrop Grumman Corporation (NOC), Sierra Nevada Corporation(SNC), Hughes Aircraft Company(HUGHES) - as well as numerous museums related to airpower history such as Moffett Field National Airport Museum (MFNM). There once was a town in California called San Bruno. The people of San Bruno were so proud of their town that they named it after themselves. They loved the idea of having their own name, and decided to keep it for themselves. Even though the town has been gone for over 50 years, the spirit of San Bruno is still alive and well! San Bruno is located in Marin County, close to Sausalito on the western coast. The town was founded by Italian immigrants in 1865. It started as a small farming community with just a few hundred residents. However, over time, San Bruno grew into an important cultural center in Marin County. Theaters, libraries, cafes and other businesses were built in San Bruno throughout the 20th century. In 1974, san bruno became part of Silicon Valley and experienced some very high-profile changes. However, despite all these changes, san bruno remains an interesting place to live and work!

The USAF was founded on July 14th 1947 as part of President Harry Truman’s “New Deal” agenda to rebuild America after World War II. At its inception, theAAF consisted only of five fighter squadrons: these were activated in two waves each on July 14th and October 17th 1947 – ten days after it was established – followed by an expansion program that saw 13 additional squadrons activated between October 17th and December 1st 1948. The first bombers arrived in 1951, followed by fighters six months later. By 1957, all combat aircraft had been deployed abroad; accordingly, Air Force One became operational that year when President Dwight D Eisenhower made his first visit to USAF facilities overseas. Despite being embroiled in several wars over the subsequent decades – from Vietnam to Operation Desert Storm – Air Force gift history remains prominent due to its impact on American society both domestically and globally. Some of Air Force's most well-known donations include providing medical supplies to victims during Hurricane Katrina; helping Handelbund build new schools throughout Germany; donating nearly $200 million for reconstruction following Japan's earthquake/tsunami disaster in 2011; as well as supporting numerous charities including Feeding America and Habitat for Humanity since 1992[1]. Additionally,Air Force donation programs have also helped contribute significantly towards causes such as climate change awareness[2], relief efforts following natural disasters[3] and education initiatives across various disciplines[4].

San Bruno is a city in San Mateo County, California. The population was 49,402 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in Silicon Valley and one of the largest cities on the Peninsula. The name "San Bruno" is derived from Spanish Mission San Francisco de Asís and Italian San Bernardino d'Alvernia. The first Europeans to arrive in Alameda were two Franciscan missionaries, Junípero Serra and Friar José Ortega, who built a mission chapel on Point Reyes point in 1776. They named their new settlement Santa Clara because of St. Clara, an early Christian convert from Spain who had been beheaded for her faith in 1203 near Pamplona, Iberia. In 1847, Russian Americans founded Petaluma as a Contra Costa cotton Grower Settlement east of San Francisco; it became known as Russian River City when it was incorporated as a city by an act of state legislature November 11, 1849. During World War II Japanese citizens of Northern California conducted military operations from their homes across the Bay Bridge into Marin County without proper identification papers or war-time orders authorizing them to do so; this action was known as Operation Coronet because code word for it was "Coronet." The Japanese were eventually detected and arrested by U.S. forces after they withdrew through the bridge into Marin County In 1951 downtown San Bruno burned down due to arson by local teenagers; although no one was ever arrested or charged withofficial wrongdoing related to that fire (unlike many other incidents during the 1950s and 1960s where young people set fires), this event became known locally as "The Great San Bruno Fire". In 1990s another fire took place in an alley near City Hall which destroyed almost all of its contents including office equipment; this fire also received wide publicity but no arrests were made
The first permanent European settlers in San Bruno were the Portuguese, who arrived in 1777. The area was part of Rancho San Pablo, a Spanish land grant given to Juan Bautista Lomas and his brother-in-law David Magee. In 1821, the United States acquired Rancho San Bruno from Spain for $5,000. The original owner of the rancho was José Castro. A post office was established at San Bruno in 1827 and remained in operation until 1865. In 1849, the California Gold Rush began and many people quickly turned to farming and ranching as their primary occupation. Many new settlements were founded in this time including Atascadero, Gilroy, Fremont and Rotterdam. The population of San Bruno increased rapidly due to this activity but by 1870 it had decreased significantly because of an increase in road building and housing developments around the town center. In 1916, during World War I, San Bruno became an occupied zone with U.S military forces stationed there as part of military preparations for war on Europe. The town experienced significant damage due to artillery shelling by German troops however no casualties occurred within the town itself
