San Carlos is a small town in Central California, located on the San Gabriel River. The town was founded in 1853 by Mexican immigrants who named it for the Spanish mission of Santa Clara. It became an incorporated town in 1912. In 1934, San Carlos became part of the United States and adopted its current name. The population was 10,571 at the 2010 census. The history of San Carlos began with Spanish colonists who arrived in southern California in 1821 to build missions. The first mission was founded atplaza de la Purisima Concepción (now downtown San Carlos), but it was abandoned after a few months because there were no Indians to conversion. In 1843, Mexican immigrant José Antonio Ramos discovered gold near what is now San Carlos and decided to establish a mining camp there instead of returning home empty-handed. He named the settlement La Purísima Concepción (the Purest Conception). A year later, he sold his interest in the camp to Francisco Palacios for $1,000 cash plus ten cows and four horses. The first post office was established at La Purísima Concepción on February 17, 1845 by Hiram Bingham and his son Amos Bingham Jr., both American citizens born in New York City. George Armstrong Capp opened a general store there on July 1, 1851; it remains one of the most important businesses operating in San Carlos today. During World War II, Major General James Fenton's First Battalion USMC stationed here before they moved north to Chula Vista Naval Air Station just south of Los Angeles County during the initial invasion of Southern California that commenced on December 8th 1945 which ended November 15th 1946 when Japan capitulated unconditionally following their surrender from America’s Second World War effort led by Harry S Truman

His company would start shipping beans all over Europe and eventually sell them to companies such as Starbucks and KFC. In 1971, George Peet founded Peet's Coffee & Tea in Newton, Massachusetts with his brother John Peet. After many years of growth and success, George Peet passed away in 1994 at the age of eighty-four; his son John continued business operations under his father's name until 2001 when he merged with two other companies forming Starbucks Corporation (the future owners of Dunkin' Donuts). Over time various other names have been given to different incarnations or subsidiaries thereof - including Java Bean Coffee Company (now owned by Keurig), Death Wish Coffee Roasters (now part of Nestle), Blue Bottle Coffee Co., Inc., Broad Ripple Creamery & Cafe (now part of AromaCoast) - but these are all ultimately traceable back to George Peet's original operation at 4 Beacon Street in Boston MA 02118-0001.(1) The origins and diversityof espresso can be traced back centuries ago when different tribes across Central America brewed their own unique blends o coffees according to their climate and soil conditions (). Despite this decline in population,San Carlos remains an important cultural center for Northern Californians today due to its rich history and diverse architecture.
