The Marine Corps deployed gift history in San Fernando, California in 1942. The first Marines to deploy were the 193rd Infantry Regiment who arrived at Camp Pendleton on December 8th, 1941. They were later renamed the 9th Marines and deployed to the Aleutian Islands in February of 1942. The Marines fought their way up the chain of islands and into Anchorage where they destroyed a Japanese airfield. In May of 1942, they relieved the 7th Marines at Iwo Jima and then took part in Operation Neptune’s Spear which was an attack against Japan’s main stronghold on Okinawa. On September 2nd, 1942, they landed on Saipan and then participated in the Battle for Guam which ended with their victory over Japanese forces. Shortly after returning from Guam, they were ordered to Hawaii where they helped defend Pearl Harbor against an attacking Japanese fleet. After spending two years garrisoning Hawaiian beaches, the 9th Marine Regiment was deactivated on December 15th 1944 at Camp Lejeune when all Marine units were re-organized as one large battalion under General Douglas MacArthur. The 1st Battalion 9th Marines currently resides at Camp Pendleton where it is part of Marine Forces Reserve Unit 4227 which is responsible for providing education and training to enlisted members of both active duty and reserve marines across Southern California and Nevada. In addition to its deployments throughout World War II it has also been activated during peacetime exercises such as Jade Helm 15 and Blue Water Navy exercise season 2017-2018

Throughout these years, Marines have also bestowed upon others special gifts that have left an indelible mark on people’s lives. One memorable example is when Lieutenant Colonel James Mattis donated his personal collection of vintage cars to charity in 1994. This was followed by a series of donations from other Marines including combat shotguns and rifles, vehicle parts and tools, uniforms and insignia etc., totalling over $100,000 in total since then. The San Fernando Valley is located in southern Los Angeles County, between the city of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. The valley formed about 12,000 years ago when two small hills were combined to form a ridge that ran from the Santa Monica Mountains to downtown LA. Today, the valley has become one of the most heavily populated areas in Southern California and has a diverse economy based on agriculture, manufacturing, services and recreation. In 1885, three men named John Sutter, James Irvine and George Hearst founded what would become Orange County. They named their new county after a small town in England that they had visited while on their honeymoon. At first the area was used for grazing land only; it wasn't until 1906 that channels were dug to bring water to Hollywood from the Owens Valley. In 1912, news articles reported that an orange orchard had been established near Warner Bros., which led to development around that location. One of the earliest communities in the valley was Pico Rivera (now West Covina). It was established by Mexican American settlers in 1903 as a result of policies set by President Porfirio Diaz ordering all Mexicans living east of Pasadena out of state during his campaign for president. The community was soon renamed Spanish Settlement because many of its residents were Hispanicized Americans who spoke Spanish at home but not necessarily within Mexico itself. In 1907–1908, construction began on what would become known as Chino Hills thanks to contributions from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. When completed, this development included over 200 homes and 10 miles (16 km) of roads radiating out from central Park Avenue including Market Street where today’s Staples Center stands. In 1916–1917 World War I interrupted commercial growth in Hollywood; however war-related production resumed shortly thereafter with sound films becoming popular. One such studio was Republic Pictures which produced more than 60% of all movies made in Hollywood during those years including features such as "The Godfather", "A Better World" and "Patton". In addition to silent movies there were also short subjects ( camerawork ) released frequently throughout 1915 through 1917 courtesy of Paramount Pictures head Harry Cohn who called them “Dole cameras” because he financed them himself without any middlemen whatsoever This period is sometimes referred to as “the Golden Age Of Television” because early television commercials appeared regularly onscreen . By 1919 Republic Pictures had ceased operations due largely to financial difficulties caused by changes in technology; however other studios quickly followed suit with film production coming back into high gear . When sound became prevalent in 1939 motion pictures again became popular due primarily theretofore unappreciated aspects like suspenseful violence which now required expensive special effects techniques ; however even then some traditional cinematography techniques continued being employed including use Of long exposures necessary for deep space shots etcetera Even then though later sequels might be slanted towards action sequences instead o/f story arcs these days virtually all sequels are announced prior to release
