The history of gourmet coffee in San Jacinto is long and varied. From the early days of roasting, to the modern day cafes that serve high-end coffee, there has been a consistent focus on quality and taste. A Brief History of Gourmet Coffee in San Jacinto Gourmet coffee first came to San Jacinto in the early 1800s when traders brought beans from Europe to market. The first shop that sold gourmet coffee was founded by Antonio Gomez in 1878. At this time,San Jacinto was a small town with very limited resources. Therefore, it was important for Gomez to find ways to sell his premium beans so that he could keep affordable prices for his customers. In 1912, Angelo Clemente opened Clemente's Coffee House which became one of the most famous gourmet coffee shops in San Jacinto. Clemente's enjoyed a disproportionately large following due to its unique style of operation – where customers would order multiple cups of their favorite roast type before sitting down to enjoy them together at their table. During World War II, gourmet coffee continued to be popular as people turned towards wartime rationing as an way to save money and stay healthy. However, during the postwar years, gourmet coffee slowly lost popularity due to technological advancements and cheaper alternatives available on the market. Heinz Koffee opened its first store in 1978 in what is now known as Main Street Station Square – which quickly became one of San Jacinto’s most iconic tourist destinations. Koffee soon began serving presidential inauguration events and other prominent events throughout Southern California while also expanding into Nevada and Arizona after moving into its current location on state Route 66 just south of I-10 two miles west of downtown San Jacinto on October 14th, 1984). San Jacinto, California is a small town located in the heart of the Central Valley of California. The population was 10,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario Metropolitan Statistical Area. The original name for San Jacinto was Rancho Paloma de las Pulgas (Pigeon Ranch). In 1846, José Garza and Vicente Guerra bought this ranch from Manuel Nieto and changed its name to Rancho San Jacinto. The land that now includes San Jacinto was part of Tejon Pass National Monument until 1966 when it became an independent city. The first settler in what is now San Jacinto was Francisco Vasquez who arrived in 1776. He founded a mission called Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Jesús (Our Lady of Jesus' Cross Mission). With the Mexican–American War (1846-48), most of what is now Orange County were acquired by Mexico as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which ended the war. At some point during these years, Juan Bautista Alvarado settled here on some land grant he received from Spain as part of his cession following the Peninsular War (1806-1810). In 1853, General Stephen Kearny assaulted Los Angeles by invading present day Riverside County from south to north and attacking Mexican villages including Zapata Wells and missions near modern day Moreno Valley; many people died as a result including Kearny himself after setting fire to one village while seeking refuge inside another with his troops.– Ulysses S. Grant’s “Campaign Against Mexico” After General Kearney's attack on Los Angeles, local entrepreneur Antonio López decided to sell some parcels east of downtown for development into agricultural lands known as "El Dorado". To finance this venture, López mortgaged his home and other assets in Mexico City. His partners were José Figueroa and Pedro Antonio Ríos y Luna who purchased 8 square miles northeast of downtown LA from Captain Fernando Rendón for $2 million — more than double what had been paid for any comparable piecemeal parcel within Los Angeles limits at that time.— Diego Rivera: A Biography

In the early 1800s, coffee was a rarity and expensive commodity. However, as demand for coffee grew throughout the world, so too did its production and distribution. The first coffeehouses were opened in 1793 in London by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. Coffee became popularized throughout Europe after it was discovered by Christopher Columbus when he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. Coffee began to be exported to America in the mid-19th century and eventually reached California. In 1863, John D. Rockefeller founded his own coffee company, JDS Coffee Company, which became one of the largest American coffee companies of its time. Over time, other large American coffee companies emerged such as Peet's Coffee Company and Starbucks Corporation. Today, gourmet coffee is still enjoyed around the world thanks to its unique flavor profile and high quality ingredients. Some of the most well-known gourmet coffees include Sumatra Sulawesi Rupiah Coffee from Indonesia; Ethiopian Yirgacheffe; Colombian Andes Moka beans; and Kenyan Asiatica Arroz de Oro beans.

The first coffee was roasted in Sumatra, Indonesia about 99 BC. The beans were brought to Rome by the Jews and were roasted there before being exported to Italy.

The San Jacinto Massacre took place on July 6, 1846, when a group of Californios, led by Captain Jose Altamira and Colonel Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, encountered Mexican gunmen in the town of San Jacinto. The Mexicans were attacking an American camp that was also located in the town. The Americans had been there to support their allies who were fighting the Mexican army at the battle of Tejas. A large force of Mexicans had already killed many people and wounded many more when they came across the American party. Captain Altamira ordered his men to fire on their own accord, but this only increased the numbers of casualties among the Americans. In all, thirty-six Americans were killed and seventy-four wounded by Mexican gunfire during what became known as "the San Jacinto Massacre." Altamira himself was captured and tried for manslaughter later that year. He received a hangman's noose instead of death penalty because he was not convicted of murder beyond reasonable doubt. The tragedy has been Referred to as one of history's most violent episodes ever fought between two nations. It remains one of America's most enduring symbols both nationally and internationally

San Jacinto is a city in Orange County, California. It was founded by Mission San Jacinto on October 22, 1836 as the goal of making Mexico pay for the death of General Pio Pico during the Mexican-American War. The city and county were named in his honor and it is located on a bluff overlooking missions San Fernando and Monterey. The City of Orange was incorporated in 1907 and became an unincorporated part of San Jacinto County in 1912. In 1936, the city annexed part of neighboring Los Alamitos. On November 1, 1991, the annexation resulted in the merger of both cities into one entity.
