Small batch coffee, also known as artisanal coffee, is a term used to describe the production of coffee in small quantities. The first small batch coffee movement emerged in the early 1800s and grew out of independent roasters who wanted to create unique, high-quality coffees that were not available from large commercial brewers. As the industry matured and larger companies began producing smallerbatch coffees, small batch Coffee became an increasingly popular term for premium quality beans. Today, there are many different types of small batch coffee producers across the United States. Some of these producers use traditional methods such as handpicking and roasting their beans on site in small batches; others use more automated technologies such as precision brewing machines or direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns. Small batch coffee is a type of coffee that is made in small quantities. This means that the beans are roasted and brewed one or two times, rather than on an entire plantation. This allows for a more delicate flavor and better quality because there is less chance of a chemical reaction taking place in the bean tree.

In 1870, San Jacinto Coffee was founded by three men in a small town near Santo Tomas. The first crop of coffee beans was grown and roasted here in 1871. In 1903, the company moved to its current location on Mill Road in San Jacinto. Today, San Jacinto Coffee is one of the most popular small batch coffee companies in the United States. They maintain a strict quality control system that ensures their beans are fresh and 100% Arabica.

In 1821, Mexican nationals José Gabriel Baca and Manuel Nieto founded the town of San Jacinto on the east bank of the Colorado River in present-day Riverside County. The town was named for Saint John the Baptist, who had been martyred in 1799. The first post office was established in 1825. In 1853, San Jacinto became a county seat under California statehood, and it remained so until 1889. The economy of San Jacinto was based largely on agriculture until after World War II when industry began to grow at a slow pace due to lack of natural resources. After years of economic decline, new industries such as steelmaking and aerospace have sprung up since the late2000s to revive the city's fortunes. However, rapid population growth and suburban sprawl are continuing to threaten some of San Jacinto's unique features such as its small downtown district and green spaces. San Jacinto is a city in Riverside County, California. It was founded on October 16, 1846 by Manuel Nieto and others as the town of San Bernardino de las Palmas. The name means "The Fortress" because it had been defended by Adobe Walls during the Mexican–American War. The current city boundaries were set when the county seat was moved from San Bernardino to Joint Base Andrews in 1992. On November 15, 1851, San Jacinto became one of California's first towns when it incorporated as a village under the name of La Mesa. On February 14, 1893, La Mesa incorporated as a city under the name of San Jacinto with an population of 514 citizens. The original City Hall was built in 1897 on what is now Main Street. In 1936, John Fenton donated land for a new municipal park which includes what is now downtown San Jacinto and much of present-dayLa Mesa. In 1984, Mayor Jerry Sanders dedicated Memorial Park at Eastwood Boulevard and North Star Drive after its restoration following damage caused by floods in 1978 which destroyed much of downtown La Mesa. In honor of Mayor Sanders' dedication to the park, a plaque features an inscription reading "Erected in memory of Jerry Sanders (1984) who dedicated this park to community members."

In 1836, the Provisional Government of California was organized. The first governor was James K. Polk, who served from February 4, 1836 to March 6, 1837. On November 3, 1846, California became a U.S. territory after it was ceded by Mexico during the Mexican-American War.
