The county seat moved from Monterey to Fremont in 1879; but whenSAN FRANCISCO COUNTY WAS CREATED IN 1850 TO INCLUDE THE AREA BETWEEN SAN FRANCISCO AND OAKLAND COUNTY IT ALLOWED CHARLES WILSON TO BUY LAND NEAR HIS FAMILY HOME ON EL CAMINO REAL AND MAKE A SINGLE LARGERTown CALLED SAN JOSE (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE CITY OF SAN JOSE THAT BEGAN TO FORM IN 1897) . So Charles Wilson named his new town after himself - "San José" - although he had no real physical settlement within its limits! During World War II thousands of Japanese American citizens living east of Market Street were interned without proper trial or hearing process under Executive Order 9066 which called for confiscation of all Japanese Americans living west of Market Street without specific charges being filed against them; these people were referred to as "enemy aliens." Many families took shelter inside local businesses during this time including those at 10th Avenue and Mission Streets known as Hana Plaza. After the war ended there continued many fears that Japan might try againselse aggression so various measures such as military training exercises been conducted throughout Silicon Valley mostly within unmarked locations outside city boundaries

In 1992, Kipper passed away but his family remains active in the business today through their subsidiary Kruidhof Coffee Roasters.
