The San Juan Capistrano coffee gift history can be traced back to 1915 when W. H. Riggs, a French-born businessman, came to the area and opened The Coffee House on Main Street in San Juan Capistrano. The wine and coffee shop became a popular stop for locals and visitors alike, and it was from this business that the first coffee mug was made. In 1932, Mrs. A. L. Kapp introduced her famous "Kapp's Coffee" cups which became known throughout the community. With continued growth and progress over the years, The Coffee House has become one of San Juan Capistrano's most well-known businesses. Today, it is still open for business and provides its customers with high quality espresso drinks as well as delicious breakfast items such as waffles, pancakes, bagels...the list goes on!
This is a small town located in Southern California on the east coast of San Juan Capistrano. The population was 9,819 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat for Orange County and part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The name "San Juan" comes from Spanish meaning "Island of Saint John". This is also where Christopher Columbus landed on his first voyage in 1492 during his attempt to find new routes to India. The first Europeans who set foot in what is now San Juan Capistrano were Spaniards searching for a route to America. They built a small fort here in 1541. The land that makes up today's town was given to James O'Neill, an Irishman, by Governor Felipe de Neve in 1795. He named it after himself and put up three houses on the square called Coyote Hill (now Pigne Hill). The town started as a rural community with only about fifty people living hereabouts when it became part of Orange County in 1934. In 1951, San Juan Capistrano opened its own post office which continues to serve this community today. Some of the biggest local businesses include: Wells Fargo Bank, First American Bank, Jacksons Dairy & Meat Market, Jobsite Supply Co., ABC General Store and numerous others! Today, San Juan Capistrano enjoys a high level of economic development with many businesses expanding their operations into adjacent communities including Westminster (just south of town), Northridge and Glendale Heights just outside city limits! Many residents commute into downtown Los Angeles or other major cities each day while still maintaining close ties to their home village!

The city of San Juan Capistrano, California was founded in 1824 by Spanish soldiers who were retreating from Mexico. The name comes from the Arecibo Volcano and the cape that sits at its foot. The city was named after San Juan Bautista, the patron saint of Spain. San Juan Capistrano quickly became a thriving agricultural town, with fruit trees and vineyards being the mainstay of its economy. In 1854, it became part of Mexico and was renamed Ciudad Juárez. Over time, however, the city's fortunes declined as waves of immigrants arrived to work in its mills and businesses. In 1916, a group of American businessmen purchased San Juan Capistrano and moved it to Los Angeles County. The city continued to decline until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1933 which left many buildings collapsed. However, since then, there have been efforts to revive the city's fortunes which include development of new housing estates and a new library system
The first people to live in San Juan Capistrano were the Sepulveda Indians, who lived on a small island in the mouth of the San Gabriel River. The Spanish came to this area in 1769 and began farming. In 1821, San Juan Capistrano became part of Mexico and was not part of California until 1850.
