The United States Army deployed gift history in San Leandro, California on December 12th, 1941. The deployment of the U.S. Marines and Coast Guard was to support the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The Marine detachment from the 5th Marine Regiment deploys a total of 154 men and boys to provide logistical and military support for the Japanese forces attacking Hawaii. In addition, gifts were sent to local residents in anticipation of the wartime event. The San Leandro contingent arrived at Camp Pendleton on December 12th with their equipment and supplies. They were met by members of the USMC who gave them a tour of the camp before leading them into their unit's barracks which housed up to 100 Marines and Sailors. Each day during their deployment they would march through town lined with American flags as part of "Operation Neptune's Spear." On December 15th, 1941 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor with an overwhelming assault that killed over 2,000 people including many civilians who had taken refuge inside Honolulu’s Kanaue naval base following alerts from Germany about potential American involvement in World War II. This devastating attack resulted in America becoming involved in World War II and raising money for war effort through sales of canned goods, shoes and other items purchased by citizens throughout California. In commemoration of this tragic event, all active duty service personnel (Marines or Coast Guards) are allowed one POW/MIA souvenir per month while deployed overseas; any unused POW/MIA memorabilia must be stored out-of-sight within 30 days after return from leave or assignment ashore. Gifts given during holiday season are not counted towards this limit however any unsolicited donations remaining after January 1st will still be accepted provided they have not been used or abused within 30 days thereafter! Each day when they walked through town they stopped at a patriotic rally held outdoors where speeches were given about how America had helped protect her citizens during World War II as well as how Californians had contributed food, clothing and munitions to help win the war against fascism! After each rally there was dinner served indoors at a local restaurant before marching back into town again that night for more rallies! On December 16th they completed their deployment by visiting sick troops stationed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station prior to departing for home on December 17th aboard USS Missouri (BB-63) .

San Leandro is a city in San Francisco County, California. The population was 44,237 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of San Francisco Bay and has been the shopping and entertainment center for much of its history. The first Europeans to visit what is now San Leandro were traders and missionaries working in China during the 18th century. In 1851, John Augustus Taylor founded a town here on land he had purchased from Native American chiefs. A year later, other Americans (among them Woolridge) founded another settlement, which became known as Hercules Heights after wealthy merchant George Herriman bought property here in 1857. They named their new town after Achilles, who had died while fighting in Greece against Troyes invaders nine years earlier. In 1886, Jens Jensen built one of the first hotels in California at 4th Street and Union Street; it remains standing today as part of the University of California Museum of Modern Art campus. By 1890, however, growth was slowing due to an influx of Chinese immigrants who were needed to work in the growing economy during the late 19th century gold rush. San Leandro, California is a city in San Francisco County, California, on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay. The population was 76,291 at the 2010 census. The city is considered an important cultural and economic center for the East Bay area. It was founded by Mexicans in 1847 as part of Alameda County. The first European to visit San Leandro was Juan Bautista de Anza on October 17, 1776 during his exploration of present-day Hayward Valley and he named it after Saint Lawrence of Assisi. In 1837, Don Carlos Herrera donated land to the City for $1,000 This land included present day Leon Street and Englishman's Wharf between Third and Fourth Streets. On May 4th of that year (1837), San Leandro became a town under Mexican rule with headquarters at what is now First Avenue and High Street. In 1850, when California became a state, San Leandro became part of Contra Costa County. In 1856 the county seat moved from Oakland to Martinez but this change had no real impact on the growth or development of San Leandro until 1861 when Supervisor John Fenton established a post office at Second Street and College Avenue which soon became known as "Fenton's Corner". On February 14th 1861 Fenton purchased from James Momyer all rights to what is now Point Reyes National Seashore east of Point Reyes Station including present-day El Sobrante Island which would become one of incorporated municipalities within the city limits in 1909. That purchase also included all former Rancho Yount property located eastward along State Route 1 from Martinez to Cowell Hill Road including partsnow residing within our jurisdiction today as well as portions lying northward along SR 1 from Martinez Avila Road past Hayward Airport until it ends nearpresent day Fremont General Hospital/Alameda Naval Base). And finally most importantly ceded future use rights over Point Reyes Station itself extending easterly beyond present day Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County! This final piece added significant value to this acquisition as it provided us with valuable waterfront property that we could lease or sell for any purpose we desired without having to worry about potential conflicts with adjoining jurisdictions! For many years ensuing decades we managed these assets effectively using them primarily for agricultural purposes (i.e., growing fruits & vegetables) while overlooking their potential dual uses; howeverrecently new interest has started developing around water resources & adjacent parkland making this section especially promising - please see below regarding some recent developments... It should be noted that even though much has changed over time regarding both physical infrastructure such as roadways & other amenities available within our jurisdictional boundaries; there are still many aspects which bear resemblance back to early days when life was simpler & everyone knew each other intimately through social activities like dances etc.; thus providing continuity not only economically but also culturally speaking which can be quite refreshing indeed! Upon further examination one quickly realizes just how intertwined late 19th century Mexican culture & 20th century American cultural influences were – something that continues today even among people who may not overtly think about it! Consequently culture did not simply passively drift away over time – rather continuous engagement was required in order for both cultures to continue developing harmoniously together… Which ultimately led us here today (& tomorrow!)
